RoyalsPrimacy : Podsednik Helps Royals In Two Ways

I think he fits in defensively okay, but the CS's is a concern. One thing with Hillman is he's very precise about how fast his guys are and the delivery times of the guys we're facing. He hasn't been as aggressive as I would like, and maybe the speed additions this off-season will help out.

RoyalsPrimacy : Fire Dayton Moore

Yeah. If the idea was to just wait around until moose and hos come up, then Glass wouldn't have increased payroll as much as they have the last couple years. After how badly DM failed this year, I doubt we'll see the payroll go up again.

Yeah. This team doesn't know how to win. There's no doubt about it. But where is the emotion at? The fight?

Yeah. But who's to say those two will work out? You can't just postpone a baseball team being successful until young guys make it to the bigs. You never know if they'll pan out.. (I know you weren't saying otherwise, just adding it)

True, but what young players have we had in the last 3 years that rival that type of talent?

RoyalsPrimacy : Trade Soria, Others Not Needed

We aren't the Rays because we don't have the young studs the Rays have. They stock up on starters/relievers, mix in some power with Pena, have a perennial all-star in Crawford, and have the amazing young guys like Longoria and Upton. Zobrist, Longoria, Upton, Aybar, Isringhausen and Matt Joyce all make under 1 million per year. Instead, we have an okay rotation, terrible bullpen, mix in power with Guillen and Jacobs (who combine for fewer HR than Pena has by himself), we don't have a perennial all-star, and our young guys don't pan out.

I don't want to trade Soria, he's a good player, and we have him under contract for a long time. But if you look at what we could get for a guy like Soria, when we don't really need him for the next couple years anyway, I think you've got to send him on his way. The reason why you don't trade Butler/Gordon is because both of them are young and are everyday players. You're also not going to get very much for either of them. Butler is still a downgrade at 1B/DH for almost every team at this point. Gordon certainly is.

RoyalsPrimacy : Give The Trade a Chance

I have a hard time considering Cortes our top pitching prospect. He's destined to be a middle-reliever. Those are a dime a dozen, and the likelihood of us keeping him on the major league team for more than a couple years is bogus. You could make a case that he's worth more right now than he probably would be down the road. The odds of him being a solid major league pitcher are less than 50%, in my opinion. This is just my opinion, I haven't seen the kid pitch in person, I never scouted him, it's just off of what I've read. I don't read the official Royals scouting reports and stuff either. I stick to non-biased information. Calling him our #1 minor league prospect is/was absurd, just my opinion. I'm giving this trade a chance until Yuni proves me wrong. He's got a clean slate in KC. I'm not going to boo him from day one. If he hits between .240-.280, for the next few years, I'm not going to be unhappy. At the same time, I'm assuming he'll work as hard as he's suppose to, as a professional, because like I said, I'm giving him a clean slate. Hopefully Jose can light a fire under him (and hopefully himself) and we can have a good second-half of baseball. And you never know, maybe he'll blossom into the kind of player many thought he was going to be.

RoyalsPrimacy : This is getting ridiculous

I wonder what our record/era are against rookie pitchers so far this year, it seems like we've had a really hard time with them. Nevertheless, you're right. This team isn't good in the majors, and isn't good in AAA, and we're old in AAA too.

I'd give him Greinke too, he really helped bring him back to the club and helped him fix his mental problems. I am a Dayton Moore fan for the most part, every GM/Manager is going to do something you won't like.

Yeah - keeping TPJ is a complete joke. He does probably have more lateral movement than Hernandez but Hernandez is certainly better with the bat, and has to have more upside..
