If you actually find dhimmitude acceptable on any level then what's wrong with what the Chinese are doing to the Uighers? There's a degree of religious "tolerance" in China in that the Uighers are allowed to attend Mosque they just can't engage in treason at those Mosques. IMO, what the Chinese government is doing to the Uighers is the equivalent of what Muslims have done for centuries to Christians, Jews and Hindus.After all Muslims enjoyed freedom of religion, freedom of speech and equality in America and they repaid American citizens with mass murder. While Muslims in other parts of the world openly celebrated those murders. It was not the Chinese communists who celebrated openly on 9/11 it was Muslims! That makes me see communism not dhimmitude as the lesser of two evils.
From what I've read only Muslims are claiming a "massacre" of Uighur Muslims, the Chinese government claims the majority of victims were Han Chinese.In China Uighurs are known for violence, stealing and laziness. Outside China many are aware that Islam condones lying to the "infidel". That is likely why most believe the Chinese government rather then Muslim terrorists and their sympathizers.
Given the concept of dhimmitude in Islam I have a hard time feeling sorry for the Chinese Muslims. IMO, China is simply doing to Chinese Muslims what Muslims have done to Christians, Jews and Hindus for centuries.
