I work in a library so I've had my share of brushes with the kind of people who think books about sex, abuse, rape, suicide, self-injury, being gay, being trans, etc. don't belong in the library--especially not in the Young Adult or (gasp) Children's sections. And this is exactly why I can never, ever agree with them: because censoring those things doesn't make them go away. Children and teenagers still have to deal with these things, and getting rid of the books about them is just going to make them feel more isolated and alone." YES. THIS. SO MUCH THIS. Librarian solidarity. :D

As far as I can recall, we never had any movies we weren't allowed to see. Of course, I also really didn't like movies (and still don't much like them, though I am actually strongly considering going to The Hunger Games when it comes out, which would be...probably the only movie I'd see all year), so for me it was kind of a moot point. My mom was actually pretty permissive - she was very much of the "I'd rather they come to me with questions than just go off and do stupid things" mentality. So both my sister and I were on birth control BEFORE we had sex, and when we needed rides home after drinking, she'd always be fine with it. I have the best mom ever, by the way. Just so you know. :P

Though as far as I remember, they never actually showed Giles inviting Angel in - all the scenes involving the Codex take place at the highschool. I guess Giles invited Angel in at some point when they needed to do research or something? But it's stated that Giles needs to do the disinvite spell in Passion, so...clearly he did invite Angel in at some point and then did do the spell.

Yes, yes there is something more awkward than watching TV involving sex with your parents. It's sharing a hotel room with your parents (them in one bed, you in the other) and waking up in the morning and going to brush your teeth and realizing that there are CONDOMS and KY JELLY by their toiletries and that they have not been in a separate hotel room from you the entire trip. I was completely traumatized.
