It is my understanding that it was an explosively formed penetrator (similar to the IED's that iran ships to iraq for roadside bombs, but smaller, like a perf gun for an oil well.) that was stuck using an instant adhesive onto the side window of the vehicle by the passenger of a two person motorcycle team that rode up next to the vehicle, attached the bomb, and then disappeared in traffic seconds before the bomb detonated, spraying the driver's compartment with shrapnel. of course it COULD have been magnetic and stuck to the roof of the vehicle above the driver's seat as well, either would work, and the magnet would probably be easier to accomplish.

This App is illegal in Texas. No cell phone, audio or video recording device may be used within 100ft of a polling location. I am en election judge in Harris County, and if anyone comes in to the polling locaton using their cell phone, I will be asking them to either turn it off or leave. If they don't comply, I will be forced to have them physically removed.

Someone replied that Texas did not allow you to shoot someone trespassing on your property, funny that the reply disappeared, perhaps the OP decided to delete it. Anyway here is the link to the Texas Penal Code Chapter that covers Deadly Force: http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/docs/PE/htm... the important bit is this: Sec. 9.41. PROTECTION OF ONE'S OWN PROPERTY. (a) A person in lawful possession of land or tangible, movable property is justified in using force against another when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to prevent or terminate the other's trespass on the land or unlawful interference with the property. (b) A person unlawfully dispossessed of land or tangible, movable property by another is justified in using force against the other when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to reenter the land or recover the property if the actor uses the force immediately or in fresh pursuit after the dispossession and: (1) the actor reasonably believes the other had no claim of right when he dispossessed the actor; or (2) the other accomplished the dispossession by using force, threat, or fraud against the actor. Acts 1973, 63rd Leg., p. 883, ch. 399, Sec. 1, eff. Jan. 1, 1974. Amended by Acts 1993, 73rd Leg., ch. 900, Sec. 1.01, eff. Sept. 1, 1994. Sec. 9.42. DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT PROPERTY. A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property: (1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41; and (2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary: (A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or (B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and (3) he reasonably believes that: (A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or (B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury. They were on his land carrying obvious weapons and acting like idiots (drunk or stoned perhaps?). AND there were at least four of them vs one of him. It would be arguable that he felt threatened and therefore justified. I'm not saying the rancher would do so, but it could be argued that it was within his rights to do so, especially if all of you bought the farm. who would there be to say otherwise? the drug smugglers? And if it had been at night, the rules are even more lax.

I agree TXGuitarGuy. Assuming this is found to be arson, it is clear that there is absolutely NO reason for Republicans to do this, they have everything to lose and nothing to gain by doing this. The Dems on the other hand have everything to gain and nothing to lose. After all, they are going to get swept this go-round. They are the only ones with motive.

Ok some minor corrections: The warehouse only housed the election machines and the forms, the registrations and all of that are stored downtown at the Harris county courthouse. The warehouse is not under Leo Vasquesz's dominion, that is actually the County Clerk's office that maintains and administers the election, the tax assessor-collector only handles voter registrations.They are separate functions. Harris county is actually quite red, there is however a blue zone near downtown that unfortunately elects Sheila Jackson Lee every year. but this year that might change. for early voting which starts on Oct. 2, the county plans on borrowing machines from other counties to accomplish the task. but I'm afraid that election day is going to be hell. http://redinktexas.blogspot.com/2010/08/harris-co...
