If Jasser really wants to belong to a religion that reflects his professed values, then he ought to just take the plunge and become a Christian. By attempting to reform Islam, he is attempting to push a square peg into a round hole. His brand of Islam simply does not and never will exist. He lives in a fantasy.

What I find most frightening is the lack of education that exists in our country regarding the basic tenants of Islam, especially among our politicians. If measures are not taken to ensure that the U.S. Constitution is the law of the land, the U.S. will begin to look more and more like Europe. What politicians don’t seem to realize is that Sharia is political and has very little to with religion. By bending over backwards to be religiously tolerant, we are allowing for the imposition of one of the most intolerant political ideologies that exist and certainly the most dangerous.

Nonie, I am applying pressure on my local representatives to write legislation, similar to that of Oklahoma, to ban sharia law from my state. It is a slow process, but I am not going to let up until there is a new law or amendment to my own state's constitution.

I agree with the men here. ALL circumcision should be outlawed. There should be no exceptions made on the basis of religion. The cutting of a natural body part, for the fulfillment of a barbaric religious obligation (whether Jewish or Islamic) is abhorrent.
