Big Journalism : Update to Our Story on ESPN and Paul Azinger

I've known Paul casually for 20+ years. If he discovers he hasn't been treated equally or fairly by the ESPN pinstripers, he just might tell them to FO.

Big Journalism : Pushing The Narrative With Straw Men

My comment at Washington Monthly: ramjet on May 09, 2011 10:47 PM: "Though the rise of the Tea Party supposedly means that Americans these days hate government, they can’t seem to stop watching shows about government."-Alyssa Rosenberg The first of many false premises and inaccurate interpretations which, in spite of the "seemingly" attempt to soften, remains typically hardened in a leftward slant.

Big Government : GOP Leadership to Freshman: We'll Stop Paying You if You Shut Down the Government

The passage of the Government Shutdown Prevention Act is symbolic, meant to put pressure on the Democratic controlled Senate to pass a budget bill and "own" what they are willing to cut, and more importantly, what they are NOT willing to cut. The "if government shuts down, Congress and the President do not get paid' is a portion of the symbolic bill, and is not intended to actually happen (it is also probably un-Constitutional). The Senate passed a similar bill calling for no pay during a shutdown as a stunt. The House GOP just pinned it to their bill to tweak the House Dems. None of it matters, it is all theatre. McCotter may have good intentions for his position, but he knows full well HR 1255 will never become law. As he says, "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions."

Big Journalism : The War On Glenn Beck

The attacks on GB are multi-faceted and do not emanate from a single source or group. However, with very few exceptions, there IS a common thread that runs through the fabric of the amassed anti-Beck forces. That common thread is elitism. Google " Glenn Beck closet homosexual never went to college and never knew anything about World History, American History, World Religions or the US Constitution" Whether one agrees or approves of Beck's commentary, he should be allowed to succeed or fail on his own merits.

Big Journalism : Charles Blow: Stop Writing About Palin Because She Likes It Too Much

What baffles me is that after correctly perceiving that the bashing of Palin at every opportunity by the left, the elite media, and the ruling class has the unintended consequence of increasing her popularity with the 'regular folks,' turning her into "a folk hero" for some, and solidifying her supporters, Charles Blow never ponders why. His only motive for putting a halt to the incessant, coordinated character assassination is to decrease her potency. The tone deaf, near-sighted, self aggrandizing, self appointed members of the politically elite pundocracy are incapable of considering the possibility that their behavior toward Palin is wrong, or unfair, or mean spirited, or vile, or simply not nice. And that most Americans disapprove of that kind of behavior. Case in point: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/m...
