There's a man who had no intention of winning an endorsement. Why bother showing up?

Well, I chose "plausibly" because Wisconsin is the last state in this list (now three days old) that really leans Obama, so if he gets everything up to Wisconsin and nothing else, it'll be a dream come true for every political scientist. :D

Minnesotans not too long ago wanted a professional wrestler as governor. Ohioans also kept re-electing Jim Traficant to Congress. Voters love the novelty of the atypical politician. Being indicted and convicted like Stevens also adds to that extreme. It's partly the reason Bush was elected; Gore was just so typical Washington and Bush was the ne'er do well Americans hope would succeed at something big.

Which is also partly the reason McCain is still in it. He's not popular like Obama, he's not accepted among typical Republicans. That just may be enough for people to feel sorry for him enough to vote for him. Which is why it was very smart of McCain to make this a personality race right after the conventions for as long as he could've done it.

Holy living crap, we could plausibly end up at 269.

Voter fraud is when people who are otherwise ineligible to vote do so, or when election officials misinterpret election returns to achieve political ends. This press release deals with voter suppression in Colorado.

Obama is not terribly great at making soundbites. He is better at the prosecutorial argument, stringing three or four points together into a cohesive attack. It rarely fits into short bites for network news, which makes for less red meat to go around on the Democratic side.

His best bet is to get McCain on tilt, making the debates a test for the Republican. Since June, the chatter has been that if the election is squarely about Obama, McCain has a shot. However, if the election is squarely about anything else (Bush, McCain, the economy), Obama wins.

I would take a closer look at the electors who could flip their votes long before anyone in Congress can.

Who doesn't want to watch the Super Bowl champion New York Giants on the opening night of their second consecutive championship run? What else is on TV, anyways?

People can be honest and disagree. What you want, SLCScott, is to be coddled and not actually lose an argument. I'm sorry that I can't be anyone's pushover, and I'm sorry you let your emotions get in the way of, well, actual argument last week. Especially in the blogosphere, it's very difficult to find people who can take it like adults. But, oh, I keep searching!

I stand by my last remark. Some Republicans have been very honest with me about why they vote Republican. And I'm cool with that. But your last post was a blow to your credibility. If I can't believe your promise, what other things about you am I not supposed to believe?
