Libya, for most of its history going back to Greek and Roman times, was divided into Tripolitania in the West and Cyrenaica in the East. This is a division that clearly still exists while the country is held together by the Gadafi regime. If Obama was the "cerebral" student of history that the media claimed he is he would have at least mentioned this and would try to broker a deal to bring the nation back to its traditional status instead of wasting American hardware and prestige on something as stupid as "kinetic military action.". Even an ignorant winger like me can figure that out.
While this is indeed very sad, I can't believe that the mother (I assume she doesn't pay out of pocket) is getting the extensive and expensive care for this child in a facility and before that at home and is complaining that it isn't enough. Of course I want this child to be cared for, but if they're living under artificial means at a huge cost with no hope of recovery, I have to question why this mother would not want the child in the facility where her daughter could get the proper care she needs and the mother can get a break. It sounds like she's upset with Cameron because she can't take a vacation while NHS workers care for her daughter at her home which is absurd.

Isn't it a little cowardly to claim in one post that Iran has no nukes and it is Israel who is the threat, then proclaim that it will be "wiped off the map" in another? Israel has had nuclear weapons for about 40 years and has never used them, even when attacked by the far larger armies of most of their friendly, peace-loving Arab neighbors. I'm not even sure why I'm responding after the Israel-9/11 comment though. You have certainly shown your ignorance.

Do you doubt the Iranians would use a nuclear weapon on Israel? Do you not recognize that half the Israeli population could be killed with one bomb? Or would you prefer to wait until that happenned to fulfill your anti-semitic fantasies? Has the Iranian regime acted logically and responsibly in the past, indicating that they would not use such a weapon? Why would they prefer these economic sanctions to increased trade and aid from the west to help their society prosper unless their religious fanaticism compelled them to do otherwise?
I understand the concepts of liberty and sovereignty very well. I oppose the idea of American or any other foreign policy being dictated by the U.N., I recognize that governments exists at the will of the people and should not have a monopoly on firearms, however, like liberty and freedom, soverienty is surrendered when a country threatens to destroy another and begins the process of making those threats real. If your next door neighbor threatened to kill your family how long would you wait to stop him???
