It cracks me up to see liberals slamming the SEALs as not being good actors as if the action genre superstars like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Chuck Norris, Dolph Lundgren, Steven Seagal, Jean Claude Van Damme, etc. are some kind of master thespians. I don't go to an action movie for the acting. I go for the action. I would much rather see someone with iffy acting skills who can credibly pull off action scenes than see some "actor" like Matt Damon who's action scenes have to be filmed by a hyperactive epileptic monkey on crack and then edited in a blender set to puree in order to make it look like he knows how to throw a punch.
I think he needs knee to the groin more than a punch to the face.
When the Tea Party holds a rally they leave it in better shape than when they got there. When OWS does the same they leave behind a rat-infested cess pool that they expect someone else to clean up for them. There's the true Progressive message on the ecology.
I enjoy Psych but I stopped watching it at some point. I guess I need to set the DVR to record it.
Carey is a Libertarian. Eastwood seems to vary. He's a registered Republican but in the 70s he called himself a moderate and in the 90s a libertarian. In 2008 he supported John McCain and recently he indicated that of the Republican candidates he likes Ron Paul but it sounded like he'll support whoever gets the nomination.
I don't know. Ted Danson is a lib and he didn't get a pass when he appeared in blackface while dating Whoopi Goldberg.
At first I thought it was a sign that the Academy is out of touch but as I think about the movies that have come out this year I've come to the conclusion that it's as much an indictment of the general decline in the quality of movies coming out. I think I'd have trouble coming up with any "big" movies that came out last year that I would consider Oscar worthy.
McCain could have still gone after Obama on experience because while Palin may have lacked experience, she had more than Obama and she wasn't at the top of the ticket. It could have been presented as McCain was mentoring her while Obama would be running the show but McCain was never willing to call Obama out on the issue.
I'm sure it will get made right after the gross out comedy about a peanut farmer and his beer swilling brother.
