Big Government : House Passes Budget Control Act, Senate Poised to Reject

my RINO senator SHAMEbliss (r)Ga is helping the dems at every turn. He needs to be primaried in his next election, 4 or 5 years from now, if he makes it to the general I will pull the handle for the dem running against him. Atleast, that way I will expect my newly elected senator to vote against my best interest and I will not be so disappointed after every vote.

Amendment I "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." Amendment X "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." Nowhere in the bill of rights is there any limit on the ability of any state to establish an official state religion. As a matter of fact many of the states had officially declared and sanctioned religions at the time of ratification of the Constitution. There was never any intention of creating a separation of Church and STATE, just the necessary limit of congress's ability to give preference to one states official religion above that of other states.

OK, lets try this. Georgia, supposedly a conservative state. I own an '08 Toyota Tacoma, my last registration was $323.07! I paid more than $28 per $1000 of value for the privilege of making payments on something that I paid 7% sales tax on at the time of purchase. Talk about Winning The Future. AND! thanks to my government "making homes affordable" dropping my home value to about 100K this past year I only had to pay about $1700 for the privilege of making house payments on a home that I may NEVER be able to sell, oh, and they now tell me that they can no longer afford the homestead exemption,It seems that the state government has run out of my money. WTF. Every single idea that comes out of Washington or Atlanta ends up costing me money coming and going.

Is it so hard to believe that the twisted liberal world view process a document that is as clearly written as The Constitution of These United States and conjure up this drivel? He lives in a world where: taxes create jobs, every dollar of taxes creates $1.40 in economic activity, sharing the sacrifices makes us all better off... Psychosis is a loss of contact with reality, usually including false beliefs about what is taking place or who one is (delusions) and seeing or hearing things that aren't there (hallucinations). I think the entire liberal establishment may be off their meds.

Big Government : The GOP Might Have Discovered a Pro-Growth Strategy

At the end of the day it all comes down to who the repugnican establishment thinks should have their turn in the presidency. We got stuck with 0bambi after the machine churned out mccain, we got a second term with slick willie after being presented with dole as our only choice. The Republican establishment is as much to blame for our current mess as the democrats are. The repub's are the housewife who sits idly by as her drunken husband, in the form of the dem's, beats the children.

Abolish the ethanol subsidy and the fuel content requirement. Then remove federal taxes on gasoline in an amount equal to the subsidy. This would also free up a lot of corn to FOOD production and animal feed. Seems like a win/win for the American consumer.

You may well have hit the nail right on the head with the switch to HFCS but I believe the switch back to granulated sugar will be made strictly for monetary reasons having nothing to do with public health issues. Granulated sugar costs significantly less period. It would not surprise me if they used beet instead of cane sugar so... using this as a metaphor for today's political environment, what i see ahead is a scenario where the replacement will be only slightly less onerous than the current state. We may eventually fight back to a point were we have some semblance of what was lost but it will be a somewhat degraded version and the majority will be silent once more.

Big Government : China Is About to Suffer a Banking Crisis

The Chinese are trying to beat the inflationary clock by building infrastructure, like cities where no one lives and by controlling the price of everything through government subsidies, with money that doesn't have any real value. When you consider that most of their real capital comes from the western markets for their products and the west is experiencing some hard times with more to come, then it can only be a matter of time before the crisis hits. When the inevitable occurs what will their reaction be? If it is internal struggle then our consumer prices go up drastically. If they lash out and try to regain their power through conquest then we all have trouble coming. In either case this one is going to be rough far all.

Big Government : BIG NEWS: Federal Court Halts Shocking Property Rights Abuse

One word KELO. The supreme court put it's stamp of approval on this tyrannical behavior in the KELO decision. I am glad that the developers of the KELO property backed out of the deal and I hope that the loss of tax dollars to the local government forces them to dis-incorporate. The town I used to live in partially succeeded in stealing land from it's rightful owners, but one man fought them and ran the city to the edge of bankruptcy.now we have 2 city halls and some poorly planned parkland that will continue to COST the city money for upkeep and NEVER create any tax revenue. I hope those residents who sat idly by and allowed this to happened enjoy the increase in taxes. I sold out and left. If I am not secure in my property then I cannot be secure in my person!

I would agree with all except #3 The number of years to retirement may well be inversely proportional to other 3 criteria. Remember that schools have gotten progressively worse as the younger generations have brought the newest teaching methods into the classroom. It goes without saying that it also would be highly actionable on the basis of age discrimination
