PLAYERESSENCE : Rumor - Nintendo will be Hosting a Nintendo Direct soon

I can see a Direct happening sometime soon, sure. The end of the Fiscal Year is coming up quickly after all. Even though Nintendo is likely to post profits, big announcements help to wet the appetite of investors since they aren't just looking at what has made them money, but how they will continue to get money. Not even gonna guess what they will show though...I thought for sure they would talk about Yoshi in the last one *shrug*

It kind of looks like Strider but with the flair of a game you'd find on XBLA in its prime. Definitely keeping an eye on that.

PLAYERESSENCE : Resident Evil Revelations 2 on PC will not Support Offline Co-op

It's not about ease of use because other than potential resolution issues it is definitely easy to hook it up to your TV. People that use gaming PC's traditionally don't play local co-op. I'm not saying that Capcom is right to remove the feature, just that I've always found local co-op on PC strange. As for the "lazy decision from a lazy company" comment....what? It actually took more effort to remove the feature than to include it since it is available on the other versions. I suggest you read this article before flat out dismissing a developer or company as lazy: http://kotaku.com/five-things-i-didn-t-get-about-...

personally, I've always found that offline coop on PC is a little bit strange. PC stands for personal computer after all not group computer. If I want to play coop with a friend in person I will use a video game console not my computer. even if I did care about local co op on PC, this wouldn't bother me that much since I'm not really interested in the game at all.

PLAYERESSENCE : Just Cause 3 - Firestarter Trailer | PS4

Absolutely picking this up on PC. I recently bought Just Cause 2 again during a Steam Sale and I've been playing with mods. Being able to tether an enemy, to an enemy, to an enemy, to a helicopter....and then flying off is awesome in every way. I've already played through the game twice so it's not like the infinite ammo and health are ruining anything for me. Can't wait for the wingsuit and the ability to blow up bridges and such. I've been a huge fan of the series since I picked up the first one on a whim way back when it first came out.

Of course....this only works if the stores in your area have the correct inventory numbers. The Target I work at still says that we have 4 Little Mac Amiibo but we absolutely don't. We can't forcibly change the counts to 0 either since it is a "discontinued" item (just means we won't receive them on the truck. Wii U's, X1's and PS4's are all "discontinued") Last week we had at least 4 calls a day about them.....from scalpers I'm sure.

PLAYERESSENCE : Dying Light Review Roundup - Not Looking too good (68.50%)

If I am the only person in the comments saying it isn't broken, the only person that has bought it and played it, and the person you said that in reply to....it is directed at me. No one else fits the qualifications that YOU set in the sentence. It was a reply to me, at a time when I was the only one stating it wasn't broken, and saying that I bought it. There was no plural "you" to address. I will say it...yet AGAIN since you seem to gloss over it every single time I say it. A game is more than the sum of its parts. You aren't seeing the forest for the trees. You are so focused on individual aspects being faulty that it has made you think the entire game is. The game as a whole is a separate entity than the individual bugs. That particular part of the game might be broken, but it doesn't mean the entire game is broken, which is what people are claiming. I'm finished repeating myself. Just fucking drop it already as I'm sure others are just as tired of reading this as we both probably are. AGAIN I ask that we just agree to disagree and leave it at that because it is painfully obvious that nothing either of us says is going to move this along, ever.

PLAYERESSENCE : Dying Light Review Roundup - Not Looking too good (68.50%)

Holy crap....how many times do I have to say it before it sticks? It's like talking to a bag of hammers. You have it in your head that I am arguing over something being broken because I bought it. I would be having the exact same argument if I hadn't. Here it is....AGAIN....in case you missed it the first couple times. A game is more than the sum of its parts. You aren't seeing the forest for the trees. You are so focused on individual aspects being faulty that it has made you think the entire game is. The game as a whole is a separate entity than the individual bugs. As is ANY game that is playable, but buggy or glitchy. Does the credit glitch in SMW mean the game is broken? How about the MissigNo. Pokemon? Older games were rife with bugs and they were never declared "broken."...because people were being reasonable. The phrase "I bought a [game system] for the exclusives" has been around since they started doing multiplatform titles. It isn't exclusive to the PS3. Yes the Cell processor was a bitch to code for at first but as developers figured it out, they got better at it. The issue was, games started development on the 360 because the compilers for their engines were created with the 360 in mind....before they had figured out how to use the Cell processor. BUT...it is NOT the reason that Skyrim was broken (Actually broken) on PS3. Again, it was the way the system's RAM was set up and how the game engine utilized RAM in general. It was not, however, broken on 360 or PC. They had issues, but they weren't broken. Saying they were is saying they were equal to the PS3 version which is flat out false. Games don't "run like Sh!t" on the PS3 though. Most probably perform slightly worse than the 360 version, but other aspects might be better. Saying they "run like shit" implies that they weren't worth anyone's time or the effort put into them. "Funny how most of you here were calling [games] Broken, but take offense when somebody calls Dying Light Broken just because you have purchased it" If I am the only person in the comments saying it isn't broken, the only person that has bought it and played it, and the person you said that in reply to....it is directed at me. No one else fits the qualifications that YOU set in the sentence. You don't need to say my name in order to direct something towards me or say it in reference to me. It's how the English language works. I'm not going to say all of this again any differently. At most we can agree to disagree, but if you instead continue to argue semantics I will literally copy paste this reply every time you do. We are getting nowhere with this discussion because I am literally repeating myself over and over trying to get you to see how the word "broken" is being misused.

PLAYERESSENCE : Dying Light Review Roundup - Not Looking too good (68.50%)

You seem to think that I am defending the game simply because I bought it, which is incorrect. If you can't tell the difference between me defending the game itself as a whole and talking about the definition of broken...there are bigger issues at hand. The way most people use the word broken, is...you know...the way it is defined. "Broken, unplayable mess" is usually the phrase thrown around these days. Always hyperbolic and it is no different here. That is a bug. It's called clipping, and I have experienced it myself actually. I clipped through the highway and died. Like I said before, a game is more than the sum of its parts. Individual bugs do not make a game broken unless you blow it out if proportion. You seem to be ignoring the context...again. Saying "funny how most of you etc" is later specified by "but take offense when someone calls out Dying Light etc" With that sentence, you are identifying anyone that has "taken offense" with people calling Dying Light broken, and saying that they are a part of a group of people that claim other games are broken. Since I am the only person here claiming that the game isn't broken, and from what I've seen I'm the only person that has bought the game that has commented...it was directed at me. Skyrim wasn't broken on 360. Some quests were broken and there were definitely bugs, but that doesn't make the entire game broken. Like I said before, the issues it had on PS3 were not due to the Cell processor, but the way the system, and the game, handled RAM. You're making more generalizations and using more hyperbole there saying every game that wasn't a corridor shooter ran like shit. That isn't true and you know it.

PLAYERESSENCE : Dying Light Review Roundup - Not Looking too good (68.50%)

I'm not defending my purchase, I'm defending the definition of the word broken. If something is broken, it no longer works. If something doesn't work as the manufacturer intended, but still gets the job done...it is not broken. Broken is absolutely a word that gets thrown around entirely too much in the gaming world. Just about every game released now is "broken" in some way. A game is more than the sum of its parts. Just because one thing might be broken, doesn't mean the entire product is, and that is what is being said here. Potential game breaking bug? Yes. Whole game broken? No. There IS a difference. The reason I brought up Skyrim was to show an example of a game that was actually broken. It had little to do with the cell processor actually, and had to do with the available RAM on the PS3 seeing as the CPU in the PS3 was vastly superior to the one in the 360 when used correctly. There were 2 pools of 256mb RAM in the PS3, one was VRAM and the other was system RAM. The way the game handles RAM didn't play nicely with the way it was set up in the PS3 and so the issue happened. Game was legitimately broken, seeing as it kept the entire game from being played. You're taking your own quote out of context. "Funny how most of you here were calling Watch_Dogs, H1Z1, DriveClub, Sonic Boom, etc Broken, but take offense when somebody calls Dying Light Broken just because you have purchased it." I seem to be the only person here that actually bought the game and has said it isn't actually broken, so what you were saying was directed at me and me alone. No one else is "taking offense" to others calling Dying Light broken, and I'm not saying it isn't broken simply because I bought it, unlike you claim. If I was being defensive, I would comment to everyone that is saying it's broken, I'd say that it is flawless, that is has no bugs, that nothing is wrong with it and Techland did an amazing job....but I'm not. I am simply saying that based on the time I have spent with Dying Light, and though it has bugs and some minor performance issues, it is not broken.

PLAYERESSENCE : Dying Light Review Roundup - Not Looking too good (68.50%)

There is a MASSIVE gap between having bugs and glitches and being broken. Broken means that it is unplayable, that it does not function. Having a bug that causes a character to not have a cigarette in her hand during a cutscene where she is clearly smoking does not make a game broken. People have completed the game, even gotten 100% of everything without major issues. That means, by definition, it is not broken. Skyrim on PS3 having a bug that affected anyone that had a "large" save file, causing the frame rate to slow into the single digits....that is broken. It happened to every single copy of Skyrim on the PS3, no matter what. The only way to beat the main story before that happened was to absolutely rush through it, and even then you might be pushing it. I don't see how I am getting "offensive" either. Or defensive for that matter. I have simply said that to call a game broken based on 0 first hand experience is goofy, and that there is nothing I have seen in the almost 40 hours I've played that is anything close to being broken. It is a word that is thrown around way too much to describe something that isn't 100% perfect. Nice generalization there. I dare you to find a time when I called those games broken, or really any game flat out broken based on some bugs. I've made literally thousands of posts on this site so it might take you a while. Have fun.

I've put almost 40 hours into the game, with 2 different save files and haven't come across a single bug that would make me think "This game is broken" and I'm right at the point where people's progress is deleted, just loaded up the game and everything is fine. I have even run into less bugs than in Skyrim or Oblivion. I'm not denying there are bugs or glitches....but to call the game broken is pure hyperbole.

So the game gets some iffy reviews (yes iffy....it hasn't gotten any 1's or 2's as far as I've seen) and all of a sudden it has become the "First AAA mess of 2015" and a "bad, broken, overhyped bullet" that the Wii U "dodged?" If you haven't played the game yourself....that is not your opinion to give. You can say that it doesn't look good, or that you are glad it isn't on the Wii U (which would be a weird thing to say) but to flat out say it is bad or broken based on 0 first hand experience is goofy. I spent $90 on the game (bought it for a friend and myself) and we have put about 35 hours into it over the past week. Have loved every second of it. We haven't had any hard crashes, or major bugs, or seen anything truly "broken." I'd give it a solid 7 or 8 and I'm not even 25% through the story.

PLAYERESSENCE : Limited Edition Crying - PMPrime

I don't think he understands what a Limited Edition is either. Just because a Halo 3 LE sits on a shelf doesn't mean it wasn't actually limited....it means that people didn't want to shell out that much money for it. His example of the Lucky Draw is completely off base as well. You go to one place to fill out a SINGLE ballot and then you have the same chance as everyone else that entered. With Nintendo's recent things....scalpers use scripting bots to get access to the pre-orders within seconds of them being available, and they order as many as they can. If you want ANY chance of pre-ordering one (which is apparently the ONLY way to get one) you have to be sitting around, waiting for the pre-orders to go live, and manage to get in likely within an hour or two before they are sold out. The problem isn't that they are "too limited", it's that not everyone has a fair chance to acquire it. A lot of the time, you don't find out that there is even a special edition until after it is already sold out. It's not something you can anticipate and go "Okay, I have to pay attention at this time on this day because they are talking about this specific thing and they are going to have an LE for it." It doesn't have to be readily available to everyone for months and months.....just available enough that pre-orders aren't sold out an hour after it is announced, before a large number of people even know it exists.
