Pink Raygun.com : Fringe: 6:02 AM EST

"With the themes of overbearing fathers and sacrificial sons of this episode, I thought Walter praying was far less cheesy and pointless than this kind of scene usually is." That's true. But I also feel that since that theme was present anyway, they didn't really need to hammer it home with the praying business. God or not, I felt like the whole scene was heavy-handed, especially since it preceded Olivia's morning scene, which was marvelously subtle. I think this whole belief thing may play out better in upcoming episodes, though. I just saw a movie trailer-esque promo for the next episode with huge floating words and one said "Belief" but then blinked out some of the letters to show "Lie" instead. Ooooo! Can't wait to see where that leads.

Pink Raygun.com : MPAA: Keeping the Ladies Chaste

The MPAA proves once again that it is totally outdated and not needed. At all. I was actually surprised to see that this movie was PG-13. Synder's known for making pretty hard R rated films (hard in comparison to other R rated fare, that is), so I thought this movie would be similar. I suppose he wanted to "reach a wider audience" which is such bs since an R-rated film would have still reached a pretty wide audience. I'm tired of all these hardcore action and horror films being toned down so that everything can be more "family friendly." Last time I checked, there was no shortage of goofy kids movies at the theater.

Pink Raygun.com : Spring Shoes for Puppet Slaughtering Heroines

I usually recoil from high fashion looks but...I actually LIKE some of these shoes. I too like the green tassel shoe, but I think my fave is the silver school girl moon shoe. But why do most of those heels look like 6+ inches? I'd hit the ceiling if I wore those, jeez. Now I want to find an alternative, sensible, silver, Mary Jane flat to mimic that pair...

Pink Raygun.com : The Event: And Then There Were More

You've just found the perfect show to rage on, yet keep coming back to. I've been doing it since Day One. This show definitely has some great moments, especially with the Government plot. I actually like the President and co. storyline the best, which is such a rarity since most government storylines in shows like these suck. On the other hand, the Laila and Sean story is INFURIATING. Their story could easily be scrapped, even though this new revelation ties them closer to the plot than they've ever been. Plus, they suck as characters; they're whiny and stupid. This yuppie couple drives me INSANE.

I agree with you about Walter's portrayal in this episode--it was very morally gray. Even that minor scene in the beginning of the episode, where he scolded Olivia for talking during their meditation exercise and yet put the bear on Nick's feet, kinda showed that contrast between bastard and nice guy. Olivia pushing away the puzzle was AMAZING. I kind of wish Walter would've showed her Jaws; you KNOW she would've not been scared of that movie at all!

I feel the same way. Everyone should be watching this show. In my honest opinion, this show KILLS Lost in terms of quality. (I think Lost had a strong start, but started getting too spiritual in the end; also the characters' problems got really effing melodramatic.)

Given how irritated I am with Peter right now, I don't mind if he gets more bashing, ha. But there's also other stuff happening with Peter that I think will be the focus of the next few episodes--I feel like now that Olivia knows that some part of Peter still loves Bolivia they'll move onto something else for a while. That's story's plateaued...for now.

I think when the pregnancy was announced, I yelled something like "EFF YOU PETER!" Peter gets a lot of my hate these days. HE'S MAKING OLIVIA SAD, THE MEANIE. This episode really made me aware of how depressing Team Fringe is compared to Fringe Division! Lincoln obviously loves Bolivia but he's handles it so well--he's supportive and everything. Peter gave Olivia the wrong coffee and there was an epic breakdown. Jeez, Team Fringe! Get your crap together...

Pink Raygun.com : My Heroines Have Always Been Evil Queens and Witches

Man, Disney has problems. I've been watching Miyazaki's films recently, and when you compare his portrayal of old women to Disney's (actually if you just compare Miyazaki's women to Disney's) Disney falls way short. Miyazaki has such a great respect for all women--I'm just about ready to give up Disney animation for good (too many damn princesses!). Anyway, your post reminds me of this Muppet Babies episode I saw as a kid: the baby muppets were reenacting Snow White and Miss Piggy wanted to be Snow White, naturally. But since she always got to be the Princess the rest of the Muppets let the other girl (Skeeter I think her name was) have it and Piggy was forced to be the Evil Queen. And at first she hated it, but then she ended up LOVING it. And at the end, the other muppets (boys and girls) wanted to be the Queen the next time they played Snow White. Wish cartoons would do more stuff like that these days...

Pink Raygun.com : Fringe: Concentrate and Ask Again

I'll admit, I'm panicking. I think the storyline had something to do with that--Simon kept saying "We shouldn't know what people are thinking" and I thought Olivia would come to terms with that, and maybe destroy the note he gave her without reading it. But instead we see her staring at it dejectedly, almost obsessively. It's an interesting shift, but I just don't want to see it get ridiculous.

Pink Raygun.com : The Brits Are Taking Over

My problem with this is what the HELL was wrong with Brandon Routh? He was American, a Midwesterner even, he was tall, he was gorgeous and he was GOOD! I hate that he was passed over just because he was part of the "failure" Superman film. Which even that wasn't a failure the way current Nicholas Cage movies are failures. I love Brandon Routh and I think he had that goofy nerdy Clark Kent humor DOWN the way Christopher Reeves had it down.

Pink Raygun.com : How Too Much TV Made Me Hate Tina Fey

I don't own a DVR, so live is the way to go for me. I"m usually eating while watching though, so it doesn't seem like that much time (I FORSAKE YOU, American values!). However, as a live TV watcher person, even I can admit that NBC's new comedy block sucks on toast. I only care about two, TWO! shows and they're so far apart it's not even funny. Looks like I'll be watching Community and Parks and Rec on Hulu from now on. That hour is now going to be all about The Vampire Diaries.
