I would be willing to support a reintroduction of elk to SEMO, provided the Conservation Department significantly thins deer herds. Highways are dangerous enough without adding elk.

KY3 : Purgason filibusters Ford tax incentive bill in Missouri Senate | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Spring

If I remember correctly, Ford didn't take handouts, nor did they need them. They did their own thinking, saw the economy decline coming and acted on their own to survive, while GM and Chrysler ran themselves into the ground and held out their hands. In my opinion, Ford is good for Missouri and this bill should at least be allowed a vigorous debate in the full Senate. I'm sick of pogues like Purgason gumming up the works. Is he the new Robert Byrd? Just what we need, another "Filibuster King".

KSPR News : Branson Man Charged with Selling Fake Pot | KSPR - News, Weather, Sports Springfield, MO | Local New

How many placebos are prescribed and sold to people? Nothing more than fake pain killers that are intentionally falsely described by doctors. But, I'm not surprised, coming from a state that upholds laws like, rolling papers are illegal to possess, unless they are accompanied by rolling tobacco. The papers are paraphenalia and in my neck of the woods, max fines are $500.

KY3 : Missouri revenues remain down; governor orders more spending cuts | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Spri

Granted, Obama isn't helping and has continued the spending spree to a much greater degree, but the mess began before the end of Clinton's watch and escalated significantly on Bushy's watch. He did nothing to slow or stop the country's financial downfall. Bushy spent this country into the ground too, while Congress turned a blind eye to Wall Street and Corporate America's thieving financial practices. Come on, don't deny it or try using a lame comparison to ease your shame. It's true. Neither party or their representatives are worth their weight in anything but dog feces. Frankly, that's questionable too. Dog feces may be worth significantly more. Looks like Jay has realized that being a democrat doesn't have to be about uncontrolled spending. He's going against the grain and cutting like a Republican. Liberal Washington has got to be wondering if he has a fever and has forgotten what party he represents here..

KY3 : Missouri troopers have written few tickets for driving-while-texting | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - S

I believe that texting, regardless of age should be banned nationwide. The feds are going to add interstate bus and truck drivers to the list on non-texting soon. I support the decision and would also support banning cell calls as well. No calls or texts are so important that they have to be conducted underway. I submit that 911 calls should be the only exception. Here's a portion of a News Tribune opinion article that makes a few comparisons of driver distractions... [Texters' reaction times are three times slower than those of someone at the legal limit for drinking and significantly slower than those of a driver who's been smoking marijuana. Americans long ago decided they can't abide the risks from those activities. It's time for tough DWT laws.] http://newstribune.com/articles/2009/12/26/opinio...

Is addiction an actual proven fact in his case or is that just YOUR perception and terminology for it?

From what I can find, Medicare and Medicaid doesn't pay for the marijuana itself. The office visit, probably, as long as the doctor accepts them for payment. I can't find anything that Medicare and Medicaid won't.

Not only does marijuana not cause cancer, cannabinoids may be the key to curing cancer (and our government’s known that since the 1970s)! Yet seven decades of demonization of marijuana and its users, especially the last four decades of culture wars, have created this bizarre situation where the slightest negative word about cannabis is magnified and amplified, while groudbreaking earth-shattering good news about pot is ignored. If this were a newly discovered plant from the Amazon jungles, it would be hailed as a medical miracle.

Marijuana is not a cure-all. Cancer patients are oftentimes desperate in taking anything and everything that will relieve pain. Just because your cousin was dying from cancer, had nothing to do with an addiction and shouldn't be classified as such. When you realize the difference between addiction and abuse, you'll better understand my point.

Mom68... Marijuana is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE? That's a hoot. I've smoked it many, many times over more than a 30 year period and consistently (near daily) for more than a year. Never did I ever go through the slightest withdrawal symptom, threaten to kill myself or unknowingly walk out in front of a moving train or turn into oncoming traffic. If you think your boy is addicted, there must be other contributing factors involved. I would say that instead of him having an actual addiction, constituting the MUST HAVE IT attitude, he simply likes it, prefers the physical feeling it provides and therefore is ABUSING it. I would first investigate and totally rule out such things as a difficult and stressful homelife, pressures of school and fellow students or bullies, before I would take the road of tunnel vision and blame his lot in life solely to marijuana use. Also, completely rule out the partaking of other substances by actually having him tested. If that is medically ruled out, he's either playing you and everyone else like a cheap violin or he's simply content in being lazy and irresponsible. I do not know you or your son, but I would truthfully say, He is not addicted to marijuana, but is ABUSING it's use. Next time you see the aftermath of a DRUNK DRIVER, that caused a horrendous and bloody traffic accident, remember how harmless marijuana really is and realize how lame it is to say otherwise. Tally up the known traffic accidents DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTABLE to marijuana and you'll find they are not all that significant. Government websites will more than likely spout how marijuana is the devil's drug, but it's really not. Granted, marijuana is much stronger than it was 30-50 years ago and it was possible to smoke it all day long and still navigate with some degree of proficiency, but it wasn't addictive as some say. I can personally attest to that. OVER-INDULGENCE or ABUSE is the primary fault in the use of any drug, marijuana or alcohol. Prescription painkillers, methamphetamine and such are the real public hazards that everyone should be concerned with and focusing on. Want to make something illegal and do our country a tremendous service? Be a frontline advocate and drum beater for the total banning of alcohol from public consumption. You'll be a hero for the history books and save millions of lives, but you won't do it by advocating the horrors of marijuana use. Continuing to keep marijuana use and possession illegal and deprive the medical profession and it's patients from it's valuable and proven uses, does nothing more than feed law enforcement and court coffers.
