http://www.conservativehome.com/ : How to ensure that disadvantaged children are fed when schools are closed

This was political idiocy. The government agreed to this before, they knew it was coming again, and it's a very low cost measure. If they can afford £12bn for a failed test and trace system, 500m for eat out, then they can afford £20m for FSM. 72% of those people in poverty are working. They are working hard. If an economy can't support its citizens when they are working full time, the problem isn't the workers, it's the system. Raise the minimum wage, don't punish third and subsequent children through no fault of their own, and ensure that benefits are enough to live on.

Aren't you the guy who said "The coronavirus isn't going to kill you, it really isn't." This is risible: "When Neil Ferguson resigned after keeping a tryst with his mistress, I was angry, not because he had flouted the rules, but because he had contributed to their imposition in the first place." It straightforwarldy applies to Cummings, too.

Boris Johnson voted for the withdrawal agreement. Other than the fact it didn't get through, nothing has changed about it. Johson has moved from EU supporter then leaver, to Withdrawal Agreement supporter then rejecter, to finally, after saying no deal would be disasterous, a no deal supporter. It's almost as if he has no moral compass at all, and simply wants to do and say anything that will get him power for as long as possible.

The Tory No Deal strategy involves the threat of No Deal to get concessions out of the EU. For this to work, first, the EU has to be unwilling to accept No Deal (which I don't believe any more) and the EU has to believe that the person with whom they are negotiating is not bluffing. Dominic Raab is the poster child for this approach. So, it's vital that when Raab makes threats, the EU will believe he will follow through. However in negotiations, he made a threat then immediately backed down. One source said: “Raab never mentions that Barnier called his bluff. Barnier told Raab that he would tell the member states the UK wanted to blow up the negotiations and didn’t give a shit about the Irish border.” The source added: “Raab backed down. He chickened out. Which shows he was a naive negotiator. You should never make a threat you are not able to back up.” Raap, pleasingly enough, is the Dutch word for Turnip, and The Turnip is the name some EU negotiators used for Raab - a nickname not likely to engender fear. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/brussels...

Nope. He wants Remain but was willing to vote for Leave options. Johnson voted for the Withdrawal Agreement. It's the ERG and DUP who live and die by instransigence. We'd be out if it wasn't for the ERG.

Oh, that's for sure. He's a Leaver who supported a 2nd referendum on good grounds. I support a 2nd ref between Remain and the best Leave option, to be enacted by law the next day. I don't know who would win.

This is a man who said "the British are among the worst idlers in the world" As Brexit secretary he admitted he hadn't read the GFA after saying “You’d be crazy not to do your homework.”- pretty much a requirement for the job. He utterly failed to negotiate any useful form of Brexit, then flounced out. He was also caught up in a sexism row after he suggested feminists were “obnoxious bigots” and men were getting such a “raw deal” that it was time they “started burning their briefs. I suspect that this is a view that is popular amongst Tory members. I could go on.

So, the lying claim that we will have £350m a week to spend on the NHS, that the unicorn of free unimpeded access to the single market would be great (duh), and a massive tax cut which will primarily benefit Tory members, with no costings?
Not all Islamphobic people commit crimes as a result of their attitutes. But, sure, I'll show you evidence: Mohammed Amin, the chairman of the Conservative Muslim Forum said he would resign if Johnson became PM. He said "He knew exactly what effect it would have – it would lead to Muslim women who wear niqab and burka being verbally abused on the streets; in certain cases being physically assaulted, with people trying to tear it off. He chose to mock Muslim women who wear niqab and burka for his own purposes.” Conservative voters are twice as likely to think Islam is a threat to the British way of life and disproprionately believe there are "no go" areas in the UK. I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark that you share these views and don't think they are Islamophobic, which rather proves my point. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/feb/17/thi... Baroness Warsi, who is an authority on such matters says the issue is clear. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-47454993
