What is worrying about this, is that it is in Government website it's not in green/social democrat/ conservative website where it belongs. I don't think that we have separate parties anymore in Nordic countries, we have one party system where greens, leftists and conservatives are only representing different embodiment's of one ideology. Keep in mind that in two countries (FIN/SWE) people in power were great fans of DDR. We still have active politicians in Finland who were spying for DDR in 70's Pentti Tiusanen for example he never got any punishment for what he did. When multiculturalism is failing what is the medicine for cure? more multiculturalism of course and more appeasement and kowtowing. Funny thing is that in most cases muslims haven't yet made any demands but these cowards are already busy stripping all symbols of our culture off from the schools, administration buildings and other public buildings, but it goes sometimes vice versa. I think it was year or in Espoo, near Helsinki were local privately run gym forbid praying in locker rooms as it was turned into prayer room by local immigrants, minority ombudsman was immediately concerned and started to investigate (in a hope of prosecution of course) but couldn't lay any sanctions as it was a private gym, then local Library came along and outreached helping hand for these poor creatures and arranged space for prayers. I was so furious that tax money funded building and institute will provide that kind of services.

Well surprise, surprise. Higher educated Finns are unemployed as well in some fields of expertise. You can do some 7 euro / hour job as a cleaner or security guard, if you are lucky you might end up doing IT support. Unemployment rate is around 9% but in Finland if you are unemployed you will be forced to study something if you cant get a job immediately (with benefits of course) and while studying you are not in unemployed statistics so realistic figure would be 14%

Ok, thanks Southwood. @DP111 Allying with muslims is a sword of damocles i understand that, i was thinking more about how much more lieberals are willing to give in with these issues in the name of multiculturalism, if christians and muslims are allying with this issue they can start to do that on other issues as well where they find common ground. I know that feminists have decided to not interfere in any issues like burkhas, niqabs, whatever they would find patriarchal / oppressive, they say that succeeding and proceeding with multiculturalism is in priority for them, to be honest, i think that they are crapping they pants just from the thought that they should start to march for their muslim sisters.

It didn't say in the article if it is marriage in the church or just registering your relationship in magistrate? I oppose church marriage for gays but not registering relationship. I think church can keep their old customs, they have every right to do so, if green party in Finland prevents people who are against multicult to be come a candidate for their party why can't church prevent gay people to getting married in their establishments? i just hate fake liberal's logic... anyways it seems that ideology is starting shoot it's own leg.

Funny how media and some permanent commentators in various posts, at least in Finnish media, have pictured this maggot as some kind of misunderstood underdog with troubling youth and life, didn't find his place in society and got very disappointed and of course emphasizing that he was not Muslim but actually Belgian born full fledged citizen (cant you be Belgian born Muslim???). Compare that to Breivik who was immediately painted as hardcore right winger, Nazi re-incarnation from dark 1930's who belongs to that mysterious counter-jihad movement and is a member of Knights Templar... Other interesting thing was that unfortunate shooting incident in Italy at the same day and how some people were more outraged over that than what happen in Luik... edit: I think some of the newspapers here have copied that NYT story and just translated it but forgot to mention source. edit: That story on NYT was published today and same story was on news earlier for example Daily Mail wrote samekind of story yesterday

lol "swedish-finnish culture" can someone explain to me what is that? actually majority of finns want's to stop this kind of non-sense. we have 5% minority of swedish speakers who are partly decentants of finnish speakers who took swedish as mothertongue in order to get higher social status and partly decentants of swedes, germans and dutch that started to migrate to finland between 1500 - 1700. most russian emigrants also chose swedish as a new mothertongue.Amount of swedish speakers has been steadily declining and SFP (swedish peoples party) is strongly supporting policy that immigrants would learn swedish instead of finnish but as vast majority of tax payers are finnish speakers, we want to abolish mandatory swedish from schools and from jobmarkets (if you want to apply any state jobs you have to speak swedish too) around 70% of people supports that but there is no political will to do anything for it. SFP has been in governmental position since 1979, not bad from party who usually gets around 4% of votes. and about mr.Hassan him self, he is actually making his living thru immigration, he is a immigration consultant...

Dit is goed nieuws. And a very good start to make things right. Funny thing was when i lived in Netherlands few years back, everyone and i mean everyone i spoke with were supporters of multicult and none of the people i knew back then didn't like Wilders (or didn't had guts to admit it) it is and it will be a long journey ahead but this gives me a hope that we haven't lost this battle yet.
