If you go in to have your left arm removed and they take off the right one, you have a complaint. But, if you go in for a cut finger, get treated, and later lose the finger because the Dr. missed the cancer growing there ... it's medical practice, not medical certainty. We've developed in this country, the mentality that our lives should be perfect, and if not, it must be someone else's fault, and they should pay. For those of us old enough to remember, when folks still took responsibility for themselves, if we went to the Dr. with a head ache and our sinuses were full, reasonably, the Dr. gave us something for a sinus infection. Now they frequently have to run MRIs, CT scans, etc., etc., etc., for fear that something highly unlikely might be missed, and they will get sued. If our dear friend and medical malpractice millionaire, John Edwards, as an example, was compassionately looking out for those abused buy the medical community, fighting for monetary justice, why did he keep such a high % of their money? Their money, not his money, seems to be an unknown concept to liberals. The big problem? Well, let's find out how many of our law makers are attorneys. Kind of like the fox in charge of the hen house, don't you think? Oh, I worked in the legal field and have great respect for lawyers with conscience and integrity.
