while $1.75 doesn't seem like a large amount of money now back then that was a considereable sum. about the equivalent of 4-5 loafs of bread today wwould cost. and if you are poor that was a tidy sum. I think a picture ID should be required. hell mexico requires one and figer print ID to vote. Unions require picture ID so they don't get the boss in voting hell no on thier deal. most staes have a simple ID available for 10-15 dollars. you have to have a photo id now to 1 collect un employment 2 ride on a plane 3 get cigarettes 4 get alchohol 5 get anything with ephedra in it 6 buy a gun 7 buy a house 8 open a bank acount 9 pick up your child from school early 10 rent an apartment so why shouldn't you have to get one for the most important thing you can do to protect your freedome
