I’m afraid your comfort blanket is a little thin. This was not ‘well intentioned’ - these very problems were warned about, brought up in both impact assessments and through individual cases and ignored.

I knew about this stuff last year. I’m sure the Home Office did too. If the Ministers didn’t I would be very surprised.
