But really, the passengers on the train I take every day have a reputation for never moving to the middle of the car; they prefer to huddle in the door way, making it impossible for people to get on. The first week that I'd moved to my new neighborhood and was taking the train during morning rush hour, the first train was too crowded (not really) for people to get on. So when the second train pulled up, and I noticed there was plenty of room in the middle of the train, I loudly (but politely) pleaded into the blocked doorway "WOULD Y'ALL PLEASE MOVE TO THE MIDDLE OF THE TRAIN?" Silence. Shocked looks (did she really just publicly address strangers on the train? what is she, a street performer?). No one moved. The bell for the door closing rang, and before they closed, I exasperatedly yelled, "YEAH, WELL, THANKS A LOT!!!!" After that I learned that physically pushing people out of the way is more acceptable than kindly asking. Sigh, my momma would be so ashamed of me. But yeah, it could also be the editing that makes some of it look so stilted. I know!! When that happened I was like, what are they doing?? He was my favorite on the show, but I should have known considering he's based on blogger Ashley Morris (don't want to say anymore because of spoilers). And you just reminded me with that scene really how incredible the show is in terms of things resonating with you long after seeing them. That shock about Creighton, when I saw it for the first time, was exactly how I felt whenever I'd get bad news about how people dealt with the aftermath. Hmm, I don't know of The Spoiled Cat. Really great crew, and I'm so impressed with how much care the writers put into getting NOLA right. However, I think the quality of the acting is a bit of a let down, but I'm picky. Also, I know people are complaining about this season skipping periods of time, being a little aloof and slow, BUT (get ready for a nerd moment), I'm wondering if it's been done on purpose as a sort of meta commentary about how forgotten NOLA became a few months post-K and that the speed of this season is paralleling the frustration that was felt regarding the speed of coming back...? Lisa Kudrow is simply brilliant (and I was never a Friends fan). Sadly, it only lasted two seasons, and I'm always crying by the end of the episode because I can't stop laughing. It also does a great job of showcasing the ridiculousness of reality shows.
