RIGHT ON. I'm tired of Republicans being perceived as milquetoast poofters. Newt is this generation's Lee Atwater. Newt may scare off most independents (and Republicans can't win without independents) but Newt perfectly articulates the frustrations of the Silent Majority. I'll vote for the eventual Republican nominee, but whoever that ends up being better take the fight to Øbama and his minions the way Newt does.

Not exactly. It's a paraphrase from a Will Rogers quote "Main Street is bigger than Wall Street." My guess is that at the time Mr. Rogers uttered that, he was trying to re-assure a troubled nation that was going through the ravages of the Great Depression, to give some hope that no matter what happened, immediate family and local community had greater value. And yes, I agree, Disney's Main Streets (at WDW or Disneyland in CA) ARE more fun - but you STILL experience quite a bit of capitalism in the Disney stores on those Main Streets.

As a private pilot I'm looking forward to seeing Red Tails, but I have to confess that (historic Tuskegee Airmen story line aside) for me the true "stars" of the movie will be the CGI aircraft like P-51s, B-17s and German Me-262 Swallow. I've seen the trailer and the Me-262 jet engines sound suspiciously cartoony - don't know if that's the real sound of the original BMW turbojets that powered the Swallow.) I also enjoyed te original Top Gun - but the F-14 Tomcat was the real star of the show. Tom Cruise, Tom Skerritt, Val Kilmer and even Tim Robbins in his pitiful cameo were all annoying distractions...

I must be uber-conservative. Though I DV-R and watch the new 'Hawaii 5-0,' it looks to me like a gussied-up version of 'NCIS' in the Pacific. I still prefer (and watch, thanks to MeTV) the OLD 'Hawaii 5-0' with Jack Lord and James MacArthur. The plot twists are better, it's good to laugh at all the fashion WTFs of the early to mid 1970s...and I like how politically incorrect it was...

DEAD ONE with ALL you analyzed. There's one ten-second scene in the WWII movie "Destroyer" (I believe it was Glenn Ford's first movie) where the late great Edward G. Robinson (playing a WWI destroyer veteran) realizes he's too old to serve aboard the destroyer he helped build 30 years ago. Robinson does more acting with his eyes (showing an incredible range of heart-rending emotion) in that ten-second scene than I've ever seen with any old-school actor. It was beautifully subtle.

Nasty and self-absorbed never take the place of brilliance or greatness. If you're truly great (and grateful) you'll also learn (or at least fake convincingly as an actor/actress) that you relate to the common person as well. I don't relate too well to actors/actresses and none of them would ever like me - I only bow down to my Lord Jesus.
