I noticed an article on CBS's website today regarding regulating fortune telling, etc.... this time in Romania. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/09/09/ap/stra...

The Wild Hunt : Quick Note: Not the Occult Shop You Expected

There was a shop called Touchstone in the Haight-Ashbury section that was fun. That was in the 80's also...I'll have to see if they are around still. And there's Ancient Ways and Gaia in Berkeley...I know Ancient Ways is around still, but not sure about Gaia. Ancient Ways is a nicely witchy, but not "Llewellen" type store...bright store, locally handmade stuff, herbs. The other two were new age style bookstores. None were creepy or dark.

The Wild Hunt : It's Knot What You Think

Ok, I used to think that Paranormal State was way too Xtian, too, but I did notice that whatever "cleansing" thing they did at the end, tended to reflect the beliefs of the client; if they are devoutly Catholic, they'd get a priest in there to say some words, do an exorcism, etc. That particular episode was kinda cheesy, I agree, and the guy did not act sincere about converting to Christianity now ( I fully suspect he's still a practicing Satanist, as he may have thrown out a few items at the end of the show, but certainly not ALL the suspect "mirrors all over the house" that he supposedly had as "doorways".)

Finally saw Avatar in 3D last week; loved it. IMHO, If Avatar makes ppl consider that divine connection to nature as a viable/responsible option to the monotheocracy at large, then so be it, and the better the world would be for it.... 'cuz we all know what a bang-up job they are doing.... The Pope and his cronies are fighting a downhill slide, and they know it.

I'd love to have our own little pamphlet to exchange with the Mormons or Jehovah's when they show up at our door...if you show me yours, I'll show you mine!

I've gotten those booklets on my car multiple times, but I have one better; I had a plastic "Darwin" fish on the back of my old Honda for years. Then I moved next door to a seriously hypocritical Xtian, pot smoking/growing single mom with two kids. One day my (future) hubby says, "hey, since when did you get a Xtian fish?"..HUH?! Upon, inspection, "someone" pulled the fish off my car, got a steak knife (u could see the little striations in the cuts) and carved the legs off the bottom, the lettering out of the middle and SUPERglued it back onto my car. As this would require it to be done while it was parked for some time, I HIGHLY suspect it was the neighbor. Of course, when I removed it again, it ripped a chunk of paint up....I was livid.

I had to laugh yesterday coming across a Glossy News (satire page) about Jeff Bridges being a Wiccan High Priest. Took me a few minutes to realize that the whole site is tongue-in-cheek...

(<---new member/frequent reader) I'd be interested in seeing Pagan Metal; I'm a huge fan of Godsmack (gotta love Sully) and Metallica (quiet a few are rather spiritual, tho not quiet Pagan flavoured).
