If you are going to go the diesel locomotive route, GM should resurrect the old turbines they experimented on in the 60's. The Nissan Leaf is useless, but the volt makes a lot of sense (if it was cheaper), the range is unlimited with Gas, and 40 miles on electricity is a cheap way to commute.
