the baseband 6.15 was from apple's ipad's firmware. which was injected to 3g/3gs iphones to unlock using an knows exploit. Dev team can't change the value like 6.18.xx or anything. .

To all the peoples above who are getting error while restoring "iPhone could not be restored because this device is not eligible for the requested build" The real fact here is Apple has closed signing of 4.1. :( if you have saved your SHSH at 4.1 then use TU and start TSS they try to restoe. Else, you need to first upgrade to 4.2.1 and then use redsnow to upgrade ur baseband to 6.15 and then unlock.

That's because, apple stopped signing 4.0.1 long back. Anyway, what is the current firmware version you are on? do you jailbreak/unlock? Answers to these questions would be easier to help you with..

You should read the log when you click on "Save My SHSH". It clearly tells you that its too late to save SHSH for the versions you selected. So, its too late and there is no way you could save shsh for 4.0.2 or below.

as scary2 said, give a shot by resetting "network settings" only and see if works out. This is the first step to troubleshoot the issue.

There is no harm to upgrade to 4.1 if you really want to use the new features. However, I would suggest you to use TU to upgrade to 4.1 for baseband protection. Just so that in any case if need to unlock your iphone in future, you have kept you baseband protected for it.

Again you cannot downgrade to 3.1.3 if you don't have SHSH. And also 3.1.3 need a sim from original carrier or phone book sim to to activate / pass the emergency screen. Check out if you could barrow sim from your friend for activation.

Also, select "Cydia" option from "Request From:". because saving SHSH from Apple is closed for 4.0.1 & 4.0.2

Yes. You are correct. And, if you need to install any app's outside of App Store, it should be JB's. and Currently we don't have JB for 4.1. So, if you are planning to have some app's, then don't update as of now.
