- I got nothing, literally know zilch about this show.

- The opening narration is pretty cool. This is kind of like a fairy tale.

I'm so confused right now, the last five minutes were so bizarre and I am no further in understanding this show than before I started this episode.

But it's kind of adorable? And it's entertaining in a bewildering, strange way. I've got to say, it's kind of jarring watching this after something so serious like last night's Bebop episode. But I'm looking forward to this contrast.

First time watching. Things I know about Cowboy Bebop

- It's pretty much a must watch anime. I mean it's a genre changer isn't it?

- Overwhelming majority of the fandom consider the dub better than the sub. So I'll be watching the dub.

- It's a space western, right? and I loved Firefly so I'm pretty sure I'll love this?

- "See you, space cowboy" This is a pretty popular quote on the internet, that came from this show.

- There's a movie.

Anime is a genre I haven't really invested into, but I really want to. The only other anime I've watched was Neon Genesis Evangelion and I still haven't recovered from that. So I'm glad I'm delving into this.

Let's get started.

-The prologue is confusing and kind of depressing, but for some reason it leaves me wanting more. I'm interested already!

-OMG the opening credits, it's so upbeat and jazzy! It really contrasts with the stark prologue.

-That guy's name is Spike! Have you told Buffy you're still alive yet?

- I love that western styled bar and saloon.

- Bloody eye?

- Wow Jet's a badass.

- Seriously, he's already my favorite character. Also what happened to his arm?

- Yep, I'm getting serious Firefly vibes from this. The music, the atmosphere, everything. Does anyone know if Joss was influenced by this?

- So Mars is the crown jewel of the solar system? I was expecting Earth to be that.

- "You look ridiculous in that outfit."

- "Adios" Well that was kind of depressing.

I think it's safe to say I'm going to enjoy this show! This is different than what I expected, but in a good way. There's a distinct noir feeling to this, and I love it. Great first episode!

The ranking for the seasons are always changing for me too! I can't decide whether Season 5 or Season 2 is my favorite. Generally, this is what I rank them as now.

Season 5: This is first right now but it's always changing with Season 2. It has a pretty uneven season arc, and some characterization problems. But good god there are some of the series BEST EPISODES in this season. It has some standalones I don't like such as "Why we Fight" or "The Girl in Question", but the high points of this season are the high points of the series. From "Damage" to "Not Fade Away" we have the series' best run of episodes and even before that we had great masterpieces like "Lineage" or "Destiny".

Season 2: This season is SO CONSISTENTLY GOOD. Like seriously from start to end we have great episodes like "Are you now or have you ever been" , "Darla", "Reunion", "Reprise/Epiphany", and the goddamn Pylea arc! The consistency is what usually brings this to my favorite sometimes, there are no bad episodes from this season that I can remember. Also the dynamic between the main characters is my favorite this season.

Season 1: This season has no season arc, but it's united by a universal theme. It also has some great standalones like "City of", "I Will Remember You", and "Five by Five" to "To Shanshu in L.A." is just amazing. Also, Doyle. Nothing else to say about it, it's a good season but not the best.

Season 3 and 4: Can't decide between these two either. Season 3 had a generally good arc and villain, but the love triangle and whole baby plot bored me. Wesley is the only great thing here (funny how even during the show's low points, he shines through) This season is just meh to me. Season 4 has a real messy plot, it's sloppy, and the destruction of Cordelia's character is among the worst writing decisions in the Whedonverse. But it is also extremely entertaining, it has some great stories like Faith and Wesley, Lilah, and the Jasmine arc is just fantastic. So while this season destroyed Cordelia, I can't bring myself to rank it below Season 3.

By the way, did he ever post a follow up to his Season 5 predictions?

I would have loved to see a Lilah spin off showing a day in the life of Wolfram and Hart, I guess it would be like Season 5 except more fabulous.

If Joss could revive one show, would you rather see an Angel Season 6 or a Firefly Season 2?
