One reason this would be disastrous: the extent to which we have come o rely on electronics in every facet of our daily life/society. Water, sanitation, electricity, communications (even the postal service), sles technology, stock trading... Literal dependence with almost no backup. Military logistics would be cut off at the knees. We have even lost a large portion of our paper record. Even personal stuff--I have friend that would lose almost every photo of her kids because she almost never prints. (Even storage media are vulnerable.)

I guess then that as a parent I am glad your book has nothing to do with the situation. One of the MOST important groups whose rights need protecting=the accused. WHETHER OR NOT they are guilty. The line should be drawn carefully. You want to prevent individuals with links to terrorism... prevent criminals from entering, but not ban people for their "values" or culture, ideas, religion, propensity for rudeness, etc.

I am not a regular listener of Savage (the petty namecalling and jingoism get to be a bit much for me) but I DEFINITELY side with him on this. How dare the home office put him on a list with terrorists. He might stir s#!% from time to time with his show, but he has committed no crime. You don't ban someone from entry for having made rude comments. Dollars to donuts he is on this list because of his CAIR lawsuit.

Many groups are planning tea parties/demonstrations in DC on July 4th. As someone who has seen DC personally on the 4th, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND RETHINKING THIS. The crowds are already impossible and any demonstration will be swallowed and dwarfed and much easier to downplay. This is assuming anyone can get close to DC on the day of the national picnic/concert/fireworks. It is almost impossible to get close to the mall on that day. The congestion is impossible. Pick a different day, pls.

DAP, I don't think you are looking at the right problem. The government is NOT trying to help the environment. They are using the environment as a means to reach into peoples pockets. The choice of demonizing carbon dioxide is brilliant--it gives them access to every level of your life as a private citizen. there is literally nothing you do in 24 hours that does not have create some carbon dioxide. It is in our every exhalation. While it cannot be demonstrated that carbon dioxide (what plants breathe) is ultimately damaging to the environment, it is a great way to tax people. ...and Cap & Trade is a nightmare of an idea. It is being sold on the premise that it will create jobs, but I have yet to see what companies plan to hire under this plan. The nightmare of cap & trade is that costs WILL be passed on to consumers and it will not have any positive impact on the environment. Basically it is the creation of a new secondary currency for industry and business. Also, when they promote "green jobs" think "temporary jobs" when you hear those words.

How telling is it that for the entire state of PA, the #1 Public school in Businessweek and greatschools.net is PAVCS a CHARTER school moreover a CYBER charter school (essentially homeschool for those of you not in the know).... and even better a cyber charter school that uses the K12 curriculum (founded by William J Bennett). Not surprised. They already dose us with toxic levels of fluoride without our consent (even though it has never been approved by the FDA for that purpose or in that dangerous and unregulable method of application) and have for many years.
