How are the people who rushed into this going to make the payments on a new car? Will we see this backfire on the economy again like the housing market did in a short time? I do not see how giving away money is going to fix anything that is really wrong in the economy…it can only add to the problem in the long run. When these temporarily rich folks run out of money again, what happens then? You can locate the poorest and most down trodden person on the face of the earth, give him/her a few thousand dollars and they would be up and going strong. If they do not know how to manage the money or are able to obtain gainful employment to sustain the flow of the money, in a short time when it is all gone again, this person will not only be back into the same position as before, but likely will be in worse shape. This is nothing more than generalized welfare and it will not work in the long run except to cause a lot more misery to many more people.
