We want to stop at ONE store and get everything we need. We want everything to be dirt cheap and immediately available. We want corporate jobs only and high pay. So... just about everything else went extinct. I don't think any one generation is to blame for that. This is the progress we have worked so hard for since the beginning of time. Each generation strives to make life easier and more pleasant. I think we overlooked what was really important as far as "happiness" goes and now we will pay the price. I think this economic crisis was long overdue. Unfortunately, you can't stop laziness or technology - so I'm not sure how we will get out of this hole we dug.
