Yes, QuickPwn and PwnageTool will both be released for 3.0. Come back to this blog when 3.0 is released tomorrow. There will be updates here, just as there were for previous releases.

There's no point in doing that because the latest baseband on firmware 3.0 will work with yellowsn0w.

Actually if you read the blog post above you'll notice that it says the following: "Our tools will be released no sooner than the Apple release (just in case!)"

The 6/23/09 you see is the date that your iTunes will automatically check for updates, it is NOT the date that iPhone OS 3.0 software update will be out. iPhone OS 3.0 will still be out on 6/17/09, so manually check for it some time tomorrow!

You must install firmware 3.0 through iTunes tomorrow and then use QuickPwn or PwnageTool to jailbreak. I haven't tried it but you may be able to backup your current jailbroken apps by using the Aptbackup program in Cydia.

No, it will still be released on June 17. You may have to manually check for the update by going to iTunes -> Check for Updates (on a Mac).

MuscleNerd is just doing a live demo of the yellowsn0w unlock tomorrow, the actual unlock and jailbreak will be released after iPhone OS 3.0 is officially released (some time on Wednesday). Yes it is an updated version that works with firmware 3.0.

Let me clarify, if you are currently jailbroken and you don't expect to rejailbreak before the release of iPhone 3.0 then you can go ahead and upgrade to iTunes 8.2. Once the 3.0 jailbreak is out you'll be able to jailbreak with the new jailbreaking tools.
