Any good Prez tell the troops what he needs done and asks the General in charge what he/she needs to get it done. If that General says I need 30,000 more troops, you give him 30,000 and ask if he's sure that all he needs. You don't give them 17,000 then later 4000 more...

Think about this, every place we have left troops after a war has been pretty quiet, Germany, Japan, Korea, heck even Cuba since the Spam-Am war. Where did we not leave troops.. Hmm.. 'Nam adn the killing fields after, while not US dead, there was LOTS and lots of dead... and WW1, hell if we had left troops in Germany in 1918, would we have had Hitler and WW2?? Think how many people could have been saved.

I have watched just south of us, in the Pioneer Vally of Mass, Some of the BEST farm land in the World by many accounts, get sold and houses put up. Why would anyone do that to really good dirt?

Ok, Something else I thought about, being 42, I remember the 70's pretty well and the 80's even better. President Regan sure had things bad when he took over after the Carter years and he seemed to make things better rather quickly. BUT I don't think his ideas would work now anymore the Obama will. The reason? Back in the day, I would buy something (say a wench) from a local store, that store in-turn bought a case of wenches from a tool maker here in the states. That tool shop, in-turn hired me to work at a decent wage. The money keeps working around, over and over again. Little of that is true now. I buy that wench from the store, they in-turn buy a container of tools from China. China pays their "employee's" pennies a day and "loans" the US of A the money back. I feel that no matter what we do now, without a manufacturing base here in the US, we'll keep sending $$$ over seas, be it China or the Middle East. All dead ends where the money does not keep working for our own good.

I was just thinking while reading over my wife's shoulder on here. I'd bet that most LEGAL immigrants know more about the US Constitution them most of the politicians in DC. Yes, we need to have a test for them, maybe the same one LEGAL immigrants take. a fair, flat tax and real representation. What do you think?
