For freedom, for equality, for anarchy. This moronic dweeb thinks anarchy will produce freedom and equality. Someone wake him up to the reality that his will be among the first heads to roll. You can't fix stupid!

Breitbart.tv : Count The 'Dog Whistles': White Congressman Verbally Assaults Allen West About His Blackness

The hypocrisy in this tirade is stunning, just stunning. I'm sure the left's racism watchdogs will be on the case promptly and we'll be treated to endless in-depth analyses and many breathless condemnations from those stalwart scolds in the major media outlets. <sarcasm off> Are there any honest media left? If this gets swept under the rug I'll have my answer....

Big Government : Wis. Election Officials Will Accept Mickey Mouse, Hitler Signatures on Recall Documents

Pay close attention! This is a real time, 21st century history lesson in progress before our very eyes. Tyranny in practice without effort at concealment or disguise. Agents of government doing as they wish with electoral data to insure the future employment of themselves and their friends. How is this different from what you'd expect from the old Soviet Union or modern day Russia? This makes Hugo Chavez look like a statesman.

Big Government : Will You Be Able to Protect Your Family if Politicians Destabilize Society?

I'm as committed to the defense of my family and property as anyone. AND I remember too clearly what happened to all those legal gun owners in New Orleans post Katrina. All that is required is a declaration of emergency and our 2nd and 4th amendment rights vanish, poof!, just like that! Keep quiet about your personal defense preparations. And provide among them a well thought out concealment plan for those items which could suddenly be judged illegal. The local authorities will have a no-sense-of-humor approach to their inquiries just like in NO.

Big Government : Capitalism and Marxism Are Headed for a Violent Showdown

No question incrementalism is the preferred method of political insurgents. The benefit to them is the invisible nature of their progress but the peril to them is that, once discovered, their depredations can be opposed politically, i.e. nonviolently. We are now at this tipping point; the incremental march toward socialist utopia has been unmasked and its only remaining course is to persevere through a period of violent social upheaval until its agenda can be imposed by the entrenched bureaucrats beholding to its liberal power structure. The socialist dreamers are now politically vulnerable to an informed electorate. In the words of one conservative journal's editorial staff, "The reckoning has arrived." The mechanism of our opression will more likely be indirect as Ms. onecornpone suggests. Citizen's wealth will be tied up in a collapsing fiat currency and they will become dependent on their political masters for simple survival. Those quaint notions of individual liberty, property rights and self determination will fall by the wayside as the citizenry gradually turns to government for its various and many needs. Invisible, incremental enslavement is the future of an ignorant electorate incapable of fulfilling its own needs. Independence is once again a preeminent virtue-neither a borrower nor a lender be!! Prepare to provide for yourself and your loved ones, you can't depend on anyone else.

Yes, you're right! Like the civilian army that Obummer wanted to create (TSA?) which would be equally equipped with the military? Or some other brown shirt analog. These big thinkers won't get their hands dirty, their thugs (SEIU members?) will do it for them. Recall that most police forces are unionized. The progress will be gently incremental at first so as not to raise alarm. By the time enough folks notice the changes (TSA roadside interrogations?) it will be late in the game and very, very difficult to oppose. The hour grows late and I tire, but duty remains....

Big Government : Morgan Freeman Not So Color Blind As I Thought

Isn't it interesting...I have always admired Morgan Freeman, even when he was found with a strange woman-he is a hollywood type after all, but here he seems to place his political identity ahead of his ethnic identity. Now, that could be a credit to his post racial cred as the writer initially demonstrates but for this conclusion one must then also conclude that Mr. Freeman's political self, as a liberal, is still completely taken up with the racism-as-cause argument against everything non-liberal. So even a demonstrably post racial liberal black man can unknowingly or inadvertently show himself aligned with all the race baiters out there when the political circumstance demand. He may well be post racial but he is clearly cast with the liberals who have no other argument to make than to scream "racism" every time their political arguments collapse.

Big Government : Connecticut Governor Enacts Card Check Through Executive Order

@Nick Shaw I don't get it. Daycare workers have to be one of the lowest paying jobs in the country and unionizing them is not going to change that. In fact, because they will now have to pay union dues, forced to in fact, they will have even less in their paychecks! You've answered your own question! The pols don't give a flip about the workers-they crave the $$$ that guaranteed union dues collection will generate. The pols give union organizations the forced membership that they can't achieve on their own and the unions promise to make GENEROUS campaign contributions to their political benefactors. Corruption at its finest!

Big Government : My 9/11 Awakening

Never Forget! Dana is correct in this, but is late to the game. Better late than never I guess. The blessing and curse of human lives is that they are of finite length and can take up only so much first hand experience on which to formulate an individual's political and philosophical viewpoint. Dana's life up to 9/11/2001 had not personally prepared her for the well established fact that humans driven by political or religious zeal are fully prepared to visit the most gruesome horrors on one another. History books are a poor substitute for up close and personal experience. Never forget indeed; 9/11 or the Hutu vs. Tutsi genocide, or Pol Pot's khmer rouge, or the Batan death march, or Japan's rape of Nanking or Adolph & Co.'s Nazi fun and games, or Joe "Man of Steel" Stalin's murderous pogroms, and so on and so on back through human history to the Crusades and beyond. I don't expect the dreadful events of September 11, 2001 to be the last entry in this awful ledger either. Is this a hopelessly negative viewpoint? I prefer to think of it as practical; these horrors have come before and are sadly likely to come again. The kind of zeal that propels fiends like these is not new and does not respond to practical or humane considerations. Dana is correct in another of her revelations; the cost of liberty truly is active vigilance. And our vigilance has been lacking of late. Perhaps as a society we are waking up to this reality courtesy of Osama and his band of merry zealots. Perhaps....

Big Government : The National Anti-Circumcision Movement: An Attack on Men and Women, Science and Religion

I have one simple question: What makes this decision ANYONE'S business other than the parent(s) of the infant in question? What gives any of these people the impression that they have anything to say about such a personal decision?
Big Government : Hero Gets Fired for Using a Gun to Stop Robbery

I applaud the courage Mr. Hoven displayed in a lethal force confrontation. This is a very stressful situation and I am convinced that he is more worthy of commendation than dismissal. However, viewed from Walgreens's perspective, the potential liability of having an employee, under incredible stress confronting an armed assailant, err and wound/kill an innocent customer or bystander must be considered. Sadly, and counterintuitively, the OSHA position likely represents the lesser of the many legal evils a corporation the size of Walgreens must consider. In this litigeous society brave people like Mr. Hoven must decide - cower with the sheep or do the right thing and stand the consequences. Aren't we as a society lucky that Mr. Hoven and those sturdy citizens like him still choose the latter?

Big Government : The GOP Nomination Is About the Future, Not the Past

If every potential conservative candidate was excluded from consideration because he/she had previously expressed some willingness to consider a somewhat liberal viewpoint there would be no candidates. Any candidate with experience has had to survive for some years in a left-of-center political climate. To condemn them now for the positions they adopted in an earlier, more liberal environment would be unreasonable. However, the potential candidates who espoused, proposed and instituted policies which directly conflict with conservative principal need to be identified and eliminated from consideration. Like our pal Mitt!
