The BNP Server is down at this moment, so lets hope its up again when you alter your settings.

Also you may need to re-start your internet connection, or simply re-start your PC for the changes to take effect.

Even if the BNP server is still off the air after you change your settings, you can check if you have done the changes correctly using the DOS Command Prompt you will find in the Accessories.

Click on Command Prompt (C:\_), and type :-
ping bnp.org.uk
and hit the Enter Key.

You should get 174.36.5.104 as the IP address if you have been successful.

Good luck

Yes, that's good.
When you got the router you would have configured it for your provider.
You should be able to access the manual set-up to alter this DNS look-up.
You may find a solution to setting this by searching the web.

ignore the bnsl. That is just a device name that user was using.
Just set the modem parameters as shown, otherwise you will not succeed.

If you a USB ADSL Modem connected to you PC, you need to go to the Control Panel, Then Network Connections, then Right Click on your Modem Device and select Properties, then follow the instructions.

If you have your Modem on one PC and are sharing the connection to other PC's, you need only do this on the PC with the Modem.

If you have a Hub connected to the incoming phone line, you need only change the Hub settings.

Let me know how you get on, just in case I can give you better assistance as It only takes a minute to fix.

I think the updating of the DNS is being deliberately blocked.
When I use BT as the provider, I get the new website, but when I use TalkTalk/Tiscali I get the old website.

Using nslookup for bnp.org.uk from the DOS prompt, I get the correct IP address using BT, But not from TalkTalk.

The DNS should have been updated with the correct IP address by now. I think I smell a rat.
