Debbie Washerwoman-Schulz surprises me. Usually, she just keeps on talking and making charges against everything and everyone Republican, whether she knows she's just making it up, or not.
The Constitution never said this applied to "black people" to consider them 3/5ths of a human being; the drafters of the Constitution thought it would be unfair and immoral to allow slave states to use slaves to their advantage which, had they been allowed to, would have given MORE incentive for slavery and MORE slaves rather than less! In fact, most of the drafters of the Constitution didn't want slave-holding states to be able to count ENSLAVED people at all! But they had to reach a compromise in order to get them to agree to the ratification of the Constitution. The Founding Fathers were far-sighted in the way they drafted the language of the Constitution, however, because the very language they used is what made the case and sowed the seeds of the END of slavery in this country! I'm tired of Liberals demagoguing the Constitution and the Founding Fathers and misrepresenting what they were about. I'm even more tired of White Liberal elistists pimping the 3/5th's Compromise in trying to keep black Americans ignorant and isolated from their proper consideration in this nation's founding.
The TIME article would be offensive even if the author was not affiliated with this so-called "National Constitution Center." However, it is an even more egregious malfeasance and smear for this idiot's presuming to be trotted out as some kind of constitutional expert and using a national publication to spread his obvious misrepresentation and out-and-out lies. As a black American, I am particularly incensed by his statement that -- "The original Constitution declared that black people were to be counted as three-fifths of a person." This is a purposeful, goddamned lie and Mr. Stengel has to know it is. The Constitution never mentions "black people, " for one thing and there is plenty of easily found documentation to explain the Founders' reasoning for the 3/5ths Compromise. The 3/5ths Compromise was negotiated with slave-holding states in order to prevent them from counting slaves in order to hike up their population numbers (but who would not have any rights) for the purpose of giving these states an advantage in seating Representatives by din of numbers of people counted in the census. While I respect Dr. Krauthammer, whatever happened to "vote your conscience?" Calling those who oppose the Republican Party establishment's "Party first" agenda, capricious, is...well....capricious. It's much too late in the day for We the People to take a backseat to ANY political pundit, or his analyses of how we ought to think or vote. If the Republican Party establishment [Mitch McConnell and others] haven't gotten the message yet, they will. We aren't going to follow the Republican Party; the Republican Party is going to follow us!
This country was not formed to make concession to ANY religion, especially one that brings a complete system of law and jurisprudence, separate and apart from our own laws. However, what we are correctly observant of is Obama's refusal to acknowledge this in his advocating for Islam's insinuation anyway. He seems to be aiding ISLAM'S "establishment." That, in itself is treasonous of this nation, by definition.
If people question Obama's profession of Christianity, his actions and statements in support of the Ground Zero Mosque support that suspicion.. He ignored our concerns, instead reading the Constitution as leaving us defenseless to the Muslims to build it. This is more an "establishment" and "separation" issue than it is a "freedom of religion" one.
Why is Obama wary of being identified as a MUSLIM? Because if he is, he cannot square his allegiance to ISLAM's Laws, and America's Constitution at the same time. And if he is a Muslim, and is lying about his being one, it is because he understands this.
Obama's seeming overly-zealous affording of concessions to ISLAM and its insinuation in the American system is a national security concern to any thinking and rational American citizen. And what validates our concerns, is the evidence Obama himself has shown us in both his statements and how he aligns himself with the interests of the [foreign] ISLAM - a religious system, by the way, that is more than just a matter of one's personal relationship with "the God of my choice", but which has proven to be one of forcing into submission all OTHER forms of religious belief; and which brings with it all kinds of ramifications separate and apart from individual or Natural Rights. This is a prescription for a major conflict. ISLAM is not willing to be bound by the laws of the Constitution of the United States of America, but to insinuate its own Sharia law- in effect, partitioning our government.
This is what ISLAM must always do, in ANY country it joins with; it is by its very nature- predatory and insidious. Its followers MUST remain under its authority, and cannot accept of any higher one.
We have a treasonous president and he has filled the White House with Marxists, Socialists, Communists, Maoists who all share the same goal: destroying the U.S. Constitution and its legitimizer, Christianity's influence in the American psyche. Make no mistake about it, they have aligned themselves with radical Islam even while pretending to be interested in protecting us from it. It was obvious to me when Obama made that damnable endorsement on Friday 13 from the Muslim Ramadan dinner held in the White House while he was surrounded by agents with connections to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Hezbollah [documented]. Barack Hussein Obama needs to be tried for treason and executed. This man is no less than a foreign agent. But somebody knows something about what is going on. One thing is for sure, middle-class regular Americans are under attack by traitors at the highest level of goverment, and they are making some kind of unholy alliance with Islam Sharia-pushers to aid them in crushing our current form of Constitutional free-market government. Everything the Democrat Party is doing, from Obama on down, smacks of treason. I hope to live long enough to see him hung for the crimes he is committing against this country. Who is this masked man?
