This for me. I played football for three years due to peer pressure (and because I was 6'5" flat foot) but otherwise had no interest in extracurricular activities. The weird thing is that I have no regret over missing those activities, but every year when people talk about prom I think I should feel like I missed out...
If that's the case, then I am the guy who was cos playing Big Mac who was right in front of you. They sold the "demo" model they used on display to my friend and then declared they were all out. I felt so bad for all the people in line behind us...
Wow, that is rough. I went to the Boston event, and it was a blast! We were able to select which starter deck we wanted and they had copies of the rule book printed out. Apparently the organizer had played before and pretty much knew all the rules front and back, so if we had a question, he would run over and help us out. There were about 4 elimination ladders going on that were staggered over the course of the event. If you won your first round, then you won a booster pack. If you won the second round, you won the Nightmare Moon foil. If you won the finals, then you won a play mat.
The game itself is really, really well constructed and a whole lot of fun. It has a bit of a learning curve, but if you play with somebody who knows the rules, you will have a handle on it after about 2 games. A friend I went with pulled a foil Big Mac that was just ill... like build a deck around him good.
