This is glossing over some points though isn't it?

Pendles had a back injury that nearly ended his career and Selwood has had a huge amount of head knocks and has put his smaller frame through hell throughout his career. If we broaden the scope of players who were stars but declined early we get Chris Judd whose shoulders were completely cooked and Dane Swan who had groin feet and heel issues as well as slipped disc the year he turned 30. Danger doesn't have these issues.

Often players hit a steep decline at that age due to the accumulation of chronic injuries and issues with their bodies.

Good point lek, harder to trust him later in the year

Last year is more of anomaly with Cripps. He usually starts fast, slows down and then comes home like a steam train. Think he might have been carrying an injury for the second half of the year.

I'll let others take the punt on Houli but he burned me badly a few years ago and I still see him as a big injury risk. Laird is the safer pick and the one I'll be going to, we can't go to Hurn because of his injury and Stewart is probably a better pick but has that terrible bye that will inevitably cause a doughnut and negate himself as the better pick. TO LAIRD I GO! Also has some upside but I'm just expecting a 100 average from here on. Whitfield a Half decent sideways trade option when he comes back for one of the other defenders if you're so inclined but I reckon his current game style might not be suited to his skinny body. He goes in hard for such a slender man, boy needs to eat

Exactly what I'm gonna do, Hore for Luke Ryan. I was referring to what was said in the pod not what he’s doing here, Hold B Smith to his bye and trade him then if you wanna flick him. I was referring to somebody choosing between Jake Lloyd and a Lachie Whitfield.

Don't think you guys are completely right with this bye business.

You should try to get more guys with later byes to respond to carnage if it comes at the start of the byes and also because you can more easily get more rookies playing in the later byes. BUT the idea you get 3 weeks worth of scoring compared to 2 from a R14 bye player is false, you get three games either way from either player between rounds 11-14 and whether you can pick a player with whatever bye depends on your bye structure and your rookie situation.

Trade in players after their bye when the byes begin and try to get players with later byes because you'll get more rookies playing but you don't get an extra week of scoring from a R14 bye player. They will play rounds 11, 12 and 13, a R13 bye player will play rounds 11, 12 and 14. The fact they play an extra game before their bye is irrelevant when trading at this stage (between a R13 & R14 player), you should pick players who have had their byes when the byes start and trade now according to your strukcha.

Dangerfield to Noah Balta is the perfect arbitrage move.

Who should come in first: Noah Balta or Daniel Rich?

You’d think the Hawks would want him to play as much midfield as possible with them being last for clearances at the current time, fitness will dictate what happens...

Lek, I like the vid and love your sense of humour.

One thing I noticed was that you called Boak a trap, I want to hear your reasoning for that

Boak played 24% midfield and 76% forward last year and still averaged 88 (prospectus) The year before that he averaged 85 with 42% midfield time, meaning he improved last year with less midfield time, showing that he’s back on the rise. The reports before the season were that he was in the best shape he’d been in for a number of years and the midfield coach said they wanted him as a mid this year. The logical thing to conclude was that playing forward for two years had rejuvenated his body and he would be back. I had the gut feel that his year would be very Murphy circa 2017.

Now he’s back in the midfield and averaging 121 so how is he a trap? I started him as a pod thinking he’d average 95 or so and be very solid and he’s so far exceeded expectations. I don’t expect the average to continue but am expecting a 100 average by seasons end.

There aren’t really many true premiums in the forward line and players like Dunkley are unproven so why are you against Boak?

I picked him when he was in 2% of teams to start the season and he’s now in 7% so I appreciate the doubts but am just curious as to your reasons.

Wines returning will only slightly impact him and will impact Gray, Drew and potentially SPP more. Rozee, Butters and Ebert have stolen his half forward flank role.
