So, how did you come to like Gilda? I was Game Mastering a game of Call of Cthulhu with humanized ponies in it, and I was basing it vaguely off of Stephen King's IT, where the Mane 6 had come from the town originally and had vowed to come back if anything went wrong, and something DID go wrong. But when they came back, they disappeared, and so the players went after them. Gilda was the innkeeper. She was SO AWESOME. She may not be suited for Ponyville, but there's no one I'd rather have at my back to fight eldrich abominations.

I'm a Gilda/Griffon fan, too. I'm pretty sure there's a substantial number of us. I could be wrong, though. Oh, and don't bother following--I don't have anything worth following. But we should hang out sometime. Discuss griffon-y things. Like talons. And whether a talon is the digit or the whole arm/claw combo.

Ok, I've got to say this. When I saw PinkiePieSwear and Alex S. were doing a song together, I fangasmed. Hard. I absolutely LOVE Flutter Wonder and Party With Pinkie. But their collab song, "Disco Lights", is one of the most forgettable, bland, and downright irritating songs I've ever heard. It's the epitome of how to do trance/electronica/techno WRONG. The song is full of screechy, high-pitched wails more suited to a dance club than my computer. The only lyrics are "Disco Lights", and they use exactly ONE LOOP the entire song. There's just nothing redeeming. The dynamics are static. The song loops, and the loop is screechy and boring. It doesn't include any of the play on sound bytes that are what make their music special. Party With Pinkie included some GREAT beats and bass play, and PinkiePieSwear is WELL-KNOWN for having brief pensive moments amidst the frantic chaos. But this? The song SUCKS. If that song's representative of the full album, count me out. God, I need to listen to something good. Where's Eurobeat Brony... OH, NOT ON THE BLOODY ALBUM, GREAT.

Don't you bash that plushie! I love my Pinkie Pie plushie! And as they said in the article, it has to do with them protecting their IP as a whole, and not anything to do with the sale of plushies. If you want to keep MLP in the hands of Hasbro (the only way MLP will continue existing) they have to C&D WhiteDove. Who you SHOULD be angry at is the douchebag who ratted her out to Hasbro... unless her selling a plushie to Lauren Faust was what did that.

She's also the textbook definition of a monster. She literally feeds on love, of which ponies are the greatest source. Any pity I feel is overwhelmed by the fact that she would suck me dry if given half a chance. New things are not necessarily good. I wouldn't necessarily agree, but speaking purely from a surface, canon-only argument, you have a point. I was kind of asking for those opinions, while trying to direct the discussion in a way that would help me, personally, understand Chrysalove.

I really do not understand all the Chrysalove. In my opinion, the season finale as a whole was rather lackluster (admittedly mostly becasuse of the horrific, frantic, and head-scratching retcons) and Chrysalis seemed like a step down from NMM and Discord due to her lack of proper introduction and backstory, her somewhat flimsy plan, and her constant surprise at just about every victory. So, I guess I'm asking, why all the Chrysalove? I understand that the changelings are natural predators for ponies, but I can't see them as any bigger a threat than most of the other monsters roaming the world. You've got flying lions with scorpion tails and house-sized, multiheaded dragons (albeit unintelligent and lacking fire breath). Changelings, while perhaps on par with these creatures, pale in comparison to the menace of a queen gone rogue or the threat of an eldrich horror awakening. There's a reason Celestia's never been defeated on-screen until now--she didn't need to be. The reputation and build-up for both opponents was more than enough to make them seem credible. Everything they did seemed to be their own doing, whereas even Chrysalis was surprised when she zapped Celestia and the mane 6 were defeated off-screen after we SAW that they could EASILY beat an entire ARMY of changelings. So, why all the Chrysalove?

FoE is so well-written that you can forgive the fact that it's a warfic. Otherwise, you're absolutely right--war in Equestria is usually a bad idea for a fic, especially when you consider that ponyfics are usually character-based.
