A Political Season : Trayvon Martin: Zimmerman\'s Account is Not Credible

Here's the most likely timeline, one that doesn't require anyone to be lying or nefarious, including Martin's GF: Zimmerman sees Martin, calls 911 Martin sees Zimmerman, runs Zimmerman parks, chases Martin 911 says stop chasing, Zimmerman returns to truck Zimmerman agrees to wait for cops Martin returns to Zimmerman with GF on phone Someone hits someone, Zimmerman is beaten badly, to the point of being potentially lethal, and kills Martin In that case, it really doesn't matter who hit who. If Zimmerman hit Martin, he didn't hit him hard enough to injure him. If Martin hit him, then he is clearly the aggressor. It Martin took a slap and then responded by trying to beat Zimmerman's brains out, he's still the aggressor, because that's disproportionate force. And in all these scenarios, the first chase doesn't matter, because Martin is the one who got away and then chose to come back for a confrontation. The shooting happened right by Martin's truck, which is consistent with him waiting for the cops, not chasing Martin all over the complex. Martin is the one who came back. My recent post Brett Kimberlin is a domestic bomber and a convicted felon

Also, Zimmerman lost Martin before the confrontation. That is also documented on the 911 call. If Martin was ACTUALLY afraid of him, all he had to do was... continue to his father's apartment and stay there. Or, he could have gotten off the phone and called 911 himself, instead of talking to his GF. It's time to take race out of the equation, and face facts -- Martin was a testosterone laden young man with a lot of impulse control problems, and he make a fatal error.
This reading of the GF's account is discounted by the 911 call. On the call itself, you can hear Zimmerman exit the vehicle and run after Martin for a short time before returning to his vehicle and waiting for the police (after the dispatcher told him he didn't need to chase him.) In any event, it doesn't matter how it started. Martin was using lethal force against Zimmerman, as the medical records show. He did it before Zimmerman shot, because the gun shot and the knuckles he busted on Zimmerman's face are Martin's only wounds. Martin had a catastrophic failure in his victim selection process. To me, the story ends there, and race doesn't matter.
Tam, one has to be honest here. I didn't praise them exactly. He was using them as an example of how they were able to gain control over Southern Lebanon thru things like health clinics. What he failed to do with that example was show that if we didn't engage in Health Diplomacy our enemies could and gain an advantage over us. But then he is Mitt, smartest man in the room.

Dear Kevin, I am not very computer literate so please forgive me if I don't know how to post links. But, I believe the following may answer some of your questions about what Romney could be hiding. The Ulsterman Report Wall Street Insider: "California" January 24, 2012 The report, itself , is interesting and the comments add more insight. There is quite a discussion about Shorebank and how money was made to the detriment of the housing industry.

It would take a heavy wheelbarrow full of money to get me to leave Texas. I've been asked (although I took it like a threat) to move to California for work, and I would honestly require a double salary just for the expense and headache. FWIW, six flags and a lot of video game developers are located in Dallas, along with other video game houses in Houston and Austin.

A Political Season : Republicans Have Become Incapable of Discussing Race

I'm with you. Means testing for SS would be a huge, huge step forward, much bigger than the welfare reform of Clinton. Bailouts and subsidies are all big targets of the Tea Party (of which Santorum is very much not a follower -- he's a social con. He's not a fiscal con by any means.) Here's the problem. As soon as black people hear what they think are some sort of dog whistle, they immediately forget all the other things that have ever been said, and home in on that one statement like it is the entire platform. "Why are you focusing on us?" No one is. You are focusing on you. Seriously. We have two times that Santorum has even brought up black people in the entire campaign, and black people are acting like that is some sort of indictment of the entire party. There's an irrational factor there. My recent post Obama Violates Constitution

And as I've said, if black people continue to react the same way, it confuses me why anyone thinks the Republican Party should waste resources trying to change black people's minds. You can't use reason to argue someone out of a position they weren't reasoned into.

I think you are right about this, but it is incomplete. It is a symbiotic relationship. Democrats have carefully maneuvered so that on any issue of race, Republicans are damned if they do and damned if they don't. The only solution to that game is to not play it. Black people are disproportionately on welfare. Black people are six times as likely to be on welfare than white people. (There are nearly equal numbers of black and white people on welfare, but there are six times as many white people total. QED.) If Republicans try to address this issue, they are either: trying to end welfare because they hate black people or trying to end welfare because they are pandering to white racists. In other words, by just bringing it up, Democrats will accuse them of either actually being racist, or trying to get the racist vote. Democrats, on the other hand, can cite the exact same statistics, and it is held up as an indication of how concerned they are for black people and how much they are trying to help. So, yeah, we know the script, and we are close to not caring anymore. When that happens, we are really in trouble, because it is a damned short hop from "I don't care if people call me racist" to "I don't care if I become racist." My recent post Obama Violates Constitution

Here's what should have been the biggest warning sign to them that what they were doing was useless. They got favorable media coverage. The media companies are the corporations they think they are fighting. If they were really getting under the skin of the corporations, then they would have gotten Tea Party style coverage. Instead, they were fawned over, like a precocious child. Why? Because they didn't scare the corporate interests. They thought they were cute.
HillBuzz.org : Iran's Imaginary Nuke: Why It Doesn't Matter

There's a very good chance that Israel can't do the job. Iran is just too large, landwise, and Israel is just too small. There's also a very good chance that they will have to try anyway, because Paul's feckless plan is the same as Obama's. Well, our best-case Obama, which is to do nothing, as opposed to the worst-case, which is to actively side with Iran. Judging from what I read today, it is all likely to be moot before the election. Israel has stopped sharing operational intelligence with Washington. There's only one reason to do that -- they intend to do something, and revealing knowledge of that something is more likely to impede the mission than not. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/international/israel... The only mission like that that makes sense in that context is attacking Iran. If it hasn't already started: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4147353...
