Hard to tell your written word was intended as a joke. ...it didn't come across that way. Cannibas has been the brunt end of many a bad rap. Cannabis has been around for an estimated 10,000 years. It is thought that Asia was the first continent to use it medicinally about 5,000 years ago. Then, there is the hemp-end of cannabis. Two drafts of our Constitution were written on hemp paper. Once in this Country, farmers were required to grow hemp (c. ruderalis). Then, it was subjected to prohibition...then o.k. again in the heat of WWII in order to make beneficial hemp products. Cannabis Sativa and Indica were also prescribed medications. That changed with the "discovery" of aspirin. Yes, there were scientific studies done on cannabis...One done at Tulane U. in 1974 was one such bogus study. The monkeys used in the lab experiments were "forced" to smoke cannabis. While volumes of the cannabis smoke were forced into the monkeys' lungs via air mask, the animals were deprived of oxygen. Of course they had brain damage...they were deprived of 02. In his second term in office, Reagan launched a very militant policy with his "war on drugs". Much of his rationale was based on such bogus studies...yet, I bet he didn't give up his martinis. Alcohol is the ONLY drug that affects every single organ in the body. What do you see anytime there is mention of "war on drugs"? A martini glass? No. A pot leaf. Now, interestingly that many of the myths are being debunked, "medicinal" has been placed in front of "marijuana" as though one type may be o.k. because it's medicine and the other kind is a street drug that only leads to other problems. I guess one could also claim that cigarettes are a gateway drug to smoking pot. How about soda is a gateway drug to drinking alcohol? So, yeah...people are a bit sensitive right now in the heat of decriminalizing a plant that is more beneficial than bad.

What a sad little man you must be. How bold of you to call me names behind the shield of e-mail and distance. You must be proud. How presumptuous of you to think I am a male. Your "sperm" and "dude" comment only applies to you, commieboy. Yes, BPA is one of the problems with most plastics. BHP, is yet another on the scene under scrutiny. Industry uses t-butyl hydroperoxide, or BHP, as a phenolic stabilizer. Phenolic antioxidants are used to stabilize polymers (a component of plastics) and are eventually leached out of the product. As far as your comments regarding standards being followed and people held accountable. You aren't really knowledgeable of that, either, are you? If regulations were followed and inspections done as they are supposed to be, then millions of pounds of beef, vegetables and fruits would not have to be recalled. Regulations have seemingly disappeared in industries that are rich and powerful are already running our Country. Pay attention. 20% tax on cannabis? Where, oh where do you come up with that? I don't believe taxes could be imposed (in Colordo) because of the Tabor amendment. The citizens of Colorado would have to approve such a tax. Your appologies for your presumptuous comments are accepted.

That's idiot logic, anyway. How many food stores are next to each other? Clothing stores? Restaurants? As for the banks...ever look on Canyon towards downtown? If there's a senseless panic button, the City Council will find it.

See? There ya go making biased assumptions and uneducated statements. Guess what, bud? Your Cherios and bottled water have control standards, but are they actually followed? Did you not read recently about the problems with cereals containing too much sugar? (Above the FDA standards.) Gee...I guess the FDA wasn't paying attention. ...and your bottled water...It doesn't even have the same restrictions and requirements as tap water. In fact, your bottled water could very well be from someone's tap at home. Also, the plastic your bottle is made of...ever heard of BHP? While you're on your high horse (so to speak), you may want to look that one up, too. If you want to get down to the nitty-gritty of it, do you consume coffee? There are at least 20 caffeine related deaths in medical literature. Caffeine is a drug. I guess a barista is a drug dealer. Oxycotin can cause deafness. That is a side effect Druggy Rush Limbaugh is experiencing. I guess the doctor who wrote him all those scripts are drug dealers.

Pigments for tattoos aren't regulated by the FDA, either. So, we should ban that, too? Many foods and meds are already supposed to be regulated by the FDA. Ever hear of Melamine? Were you as vigilant when China sent that in our foods? How about the foods from China laced with illegal antibiotics and pesticides? <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/arti..." target="_blank">http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/arti... You don't win too many debates, do you?

Yes, they should. Just as soon as all the clothing stores, restaurants and banks are. Oh yeah...they are spaced very close together. Been to a mall or Pearl St.?

There already is a pill form...it is called "Marinol". It contains the synthetic version of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol). There are over 400 chemicals in cannabis. Roughly 60 that interact with each other to give one a certain type of high and consequently, takes care of different types of ailments. It does not at all have the same effect as the natural cannabis. Marinol is mostly prescribed for nausea for patients who end up puking their guts out secondary to chemo therapy. Ever try to take something by mouth when you're nauseated? It's stupid to think someone could tolerate a pill form of anything when so horribly nauseated. Marinol is not as nearly effective as the real deal. Many patients have described it as taking tic tak. This plant is not pharmacy worthy. Botanist or herbologist, or even someone who knows the plant, yes. Do yourself a favor, open your mind and get educated before you spout off something you know nothing of.
