11 days ago in the UK 5000-6000 people per day were tested positive for COVID and 500-800 people had died per day. For me, the situation has not substantially changed. I’m staying at home.

It’s abhorrent to you but not to Asians. Does that stop us trading in other goods?

The EU Japan free trade agreement signed early 2019 does not tackle animal rights issues. The whole point of FTA is simple, free and zero tariffs. If British consumers want to buy high quality Japanese blue fin tuna, why can’t we buy it? Let the consumer decide and not the government. If the Japanese consumer want to buy British free range eggs, let them buy from us. As for developing countries, I don’t think British consumers want to buy pickled snakes.

I agree but we should also discuss those issues so they don’t get used as political points at a later time.

If you go an sell your products abroad for example in Vietnam or Asia, they can use these rules against you and haggle on the price. Even if your standards are higher, it makes little difference. Some vendors in Asia stick Sunkist labels on Chinese Oranges at the point of sale. On the import docket for Welsh lamb in Korea, the prices get jacked-up. Free trade doesn’t mean free trade. Every country and vendor manipulates in some form of another. I say we just get on with signing deals irrelevant of those issues.

Australia sells and delivers live sheep and lambs in specially designed cargo ships to the Middle East. Japan sends out whaling fleets into the southern Oceans and Yanks our Whales in their hundreds. The Chinese and Taiwanese harvest sharks for their fins and throw their lifeless bodies back into the sea. In order to get trade deals done, are we going to dictate to other nations on animal rights or are we going to let go of of our feelings and beliefs? The world outside of the EU is far tougher than you can imagine.

Double Speak Orwellian theory
1. Bike lanes should be created over the bike lanes that already exist.
2. E-Scooters should be allowed on the streets for those that can’t walk or bike.
3. Pop-up bike storage for councils to control and fine bikes parked illegally.
4. Bike training funded by GOV to facilitate Boris bikes in all cities.
5. Spread the rush hour peak so the pigs leave first, then the cows etc.
I’m feeling particularly obtuse this morning.

I notice they used a Germanic word stay and not remain. Any reasons? Lol.

How do we stay alert? Stay home is obvious but stay alert. If I’m outside, how do I stay alert? AntiVrial senses of some sort.
