I am sure more gun control would have prevented these otherwise well behaved young men from shooting seven, innocent teenagers.

Big Hollywood : Becoming Post Racial

"The good news is that thanks tot his revelation Senate Republicans are now free to oppose Sotomayor. Because she is Puerto Rican and not Mexican, Republicans need no longer fear losing the Hispanic vote." Hilarious! Joseph Phillips remains one of the most entertaining and insightful writers out there.

Breitbart.com : Obama says ousted Zelaya remains president of Honduras

So now our President is siding with the Marxist coalition in Latin America. Much like the last US election, Marxists will give you ONE free and fair election -- whether its Unions and ACORN or Constitutional changes a la Venezuela/Bolivia -- they do not give up power. In this case, the Honduran Supreme Court and Attorney General adjudicated that the President's attempt to subvert the electoral process were illegal. The military is attempting to act under the force of law, and is NOT acting illegally. Barry is, at a minimum, standing against the institutions of Honduran society that protect their Constitution. Like Iran and N. Korea, his naivete is showing and represents a real threat to US interests in the region.

Breitbart.com : France asks US military to help hunt for plane

Yes they wouldn't let us overfly their country on the way to bomb Libya, and yes they are "always there when they need us". But let's remember, we are the United States. People will always look to us for leadership because we are a great -- and I would argue the greatest -- country. Help them find the plane. It is the right thing to do and the world counts on us to do the right thing. Its just plain....American.

Breitbart.com : Analysis: Obama gores foreign policy ox

Classic liberalism. Attack someone personally, not his ideas. Everyone from Maureen Down to Paul Krugman have questioned the direction Obama seeks to take the country, yet in pointing out that he (Obama) is trying to change the country USAfirst is an "idiot". I don't know Obama's motivations, but I know his economic ideas destroyed everything from Weimar Germany to Zimbabwe. Coziness with dictators -- as a result of being unable to distinguish between freedom and tyranny -- lead to Carter's disastrous Presidency. USAfirst may be poignant, but he has history on his side.

Don't underestimate him. Undoubtedly he has American haters surrounding him as advisers, but what has he done that would lead you to believe in his patriotism? Bill Ayers, Rev Wright, David Axelrod, "clinging to guns and religion", investigating veterans (and requiring them to pay for medical care)? You are making the same mistake as those who believed GWB was an idiot, and didn't make decisions. Far from it, he was twice elected to the governor's office of a large state, cut taxes, launched the surge etc. Like him or not, he was his own man. So too is Obama. Setting aside his personality, he does not like America as it is currently constructed. What he wants is very dangerous indeed.

Ever notice the Left always argues about who is smarter? Often without any merit whatsoever. The point of this article being that we have a President apologizing to dictators that are currently imprisoning everyone from artists to opposing politicians on the grounds that the US is somehow their moral equals. It does not require a genius IQ to recognize the inaccuracy of his statement, and a question as to his motives.

Some of your points have merit. The US does consume far too many illegal drugs, but I am wondering if you'd be willing to punish users more harshly? I'm all in favor of confiscating a few more BMW's from the casual users so it REALLY hurts (as opposed to expensive jail terms), and then just watch the consumption fall. As to weapons, DC has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country, and VA -- directly across the river -- has some of the most free. So VA has the highest murder rate, and DC the lowest, right? Nope, just the opposite. The answer lies elsewhere. Don't underestimate the power of freedom, and the obligations that come with it. Mexico and Latin America have long had political corruption and the resulting violence, poverty and misery. Sad, but hardly the US' fault. We are not perfect, but the people of Central America were far better served by the democratic institutions installed by the US than the leftist ones in place by Chavez, Castro, Morales etc. Take a deep breath and love your country. As much as it may piss you off, we are the good guys.
