Thank you all for making me feel as if I knew at least a little bit about what the kids in my classes are on about. Thank you for all the art history jokes. And the sick burns on >500-year old historical/literary characters. Thank you for the Link Roundup, that has daily distracted me from my own book but made me a more interesting, thoughtful person and exposed me to some terrific writers. THANK YOU.

Thank you so much, what a beautiful piece for this final week of the toast. The historian in me wants to find Betty Marvin and thank her for her work - so much would be lost if not for the hard work of people like her, who are seldom remembered or rewarded.

Especially as we just coughed up hundreds of pounds to get our kids their British passports. My husband said at one point last night "Why did we even bother? My kids don't need to be citizens of Little England. I wanted them to be citizens of Europe."
I made him some tea and left him to seethe. His mother voted Leave and I seriously think he may take her to task over it. Or at least complain politely. He is English after all.
