GazetteOnline.com : Iowa LBs: Tarp's time

"One line in the UI catalog that describes an auditing class goes “improve critical-thinking and analytical skills in the context of real-world problems involving risk.” That sounds like middle linebacker." That is classic. Well done, Marc. I'm excited to see Tarp and Tyler this season. I'm very confident in Hunter. Good read, for sure.

GazetteOnline.com : Iowa D-line: Mike 'the Beast' Daniels talks the talk

Great read, Scott. He is a big reason why this will be our best D-line under Ferentz. The first four are absolutely great, but everybody needs a breather occasionaly, and to have guys like Mike and Lebron.....that is priceless.

GazetteOnline.com : Clayborn outtakes

“Gender in Society.” Wow. That is weird. I had that class, too. What's funny though is tjere was only one other guy in the class, and he played football ( early 90's) . It was Mike Wells. He was a great guy, and we were always looking over at each other and rolling our eyes. What a horrible class if you're a guy.

His coach said: "He’ll work hard to prove the schools around here wrong.” I love players like that. Those guys have done really well in the Iowa program.
GazetteOnline.com : Links on potential Iowa candidates; Keno out?

So. Is Butler-ball that much better than Barbee-ball? I mean, Butler kicked their tail 77-59. In the beloved NCAA tourney, where great coaches come to coach...etc. If we take Barbee, can he coach us past the first round? Does Butler ball work, but just didn't work with stubborn Lick at the helm? It works for Ohio St and former Butler coach Thad Matta. Sould we just offer Butler's coach now? You know they'll beat Murry St and end up in the Sweet 16 again. Actually, now that I think about it; Whay not hire Butler coach Brad Stevens? Our guys already know the Butler system. They did not like working with coach Lick though. So, we have Stevens come in and let these guys have fun and win games. Sort of like that other coach from Butler--Thad Matta. There. Problem solved.

Welcome back, Marc. I wish they'd come with some amazing "marketing plan" (new to Iowa) that would help fill up Carver. I know it would have to start with cheap tickets, vending specials, and most importantly, a few more wins, ( and I think they will come). But we still need to get epople to show up and cheer so I hope they actually have a plan for next basketball season. I can't wait for football. What day is the Spring Game?

You know, Coker might be just a couple injuries away from playing this fall. I really hope he gets to redshirt, just because we are so stacked right now. Redshirt just to learn the system and the importance of blocking as a running back. Obviously, he has the size to play right now, but man, we are so stacked at that position. What a great problem to have. Thanks of rthe stories, Marc. I'm really looking forward to the presser tomorrow.
