Big Peace : In Memoriam: Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)

The minute I saw this on my RSS feed, I did not want to believe that such a great patriot and fighter for Conservatism had been taken from us. I never met Andrew personally, but after seeing virtually all his videos, I wished I had. He was a true American original and there was no one else like him. May we all find it within ourselves to pick up where he left off and continue the fight each in our own way, with him as our outstanding example of what a patriot should be. Andrew, you fought the good fight and we all are forever in your debt. Well done, good and faithful servant. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Big Government : Political Moneyball: The Conservative Strategy for Winning the Fight Coming After the Election

Thank you for saving this and posting it here. It is another object lesson in exactly what we need to do in addition to the items in Mr. Schlichter's excellent article. I am going to copy and back it up for my own use and to post where needed. When you think about it, this exact process is being used as we speak by the Romney campaign, possibly in concert with Obama. Haven't we all been hearing that Romney is "inevitable" as the GOP nominee ad nauseam in online news outlets and blogs? It dovetails very well with the hints and suggestions from the Obama campaign that Mitt is who they want. Well, now that we know how it works, we can also design an offensive rather than defensive strategy to fight it. Why not? That is how one wins the long game.

Big Peace : This is What Totalitarianism Looks Like

Very, very eerie. If it were anywhere else in the world, I'd say it was laughably bad acting. But being that it's North Korea, it's pretty clear that these people are too brainwashed to know any better, or if they do, they'd keep that secret buried within themselves for all time. Imagine having to live knowing that your day-to-day life truly is hopeless; it would take tremendous faith to hold on to that small kernel of hope that you might someday be able to leave it *without* dying of starvation first. Those poor people.

Big Peace : Romney Versus Gingrich on Jihad and Sharia: A Clear Contrast

Romney likely doesn't really know what he thinks about Islam now because he forgot what his view of it was five years ago. Hard to keep those ever-shifting views straight, you know.

Big Journalism : NY Times: No More #OWS Coverage for Reporter/Activist

Ha! Lennard's big mistake was her assumption that just because the Times might be philosophically in the tank with the OWSers, giving public voice to it was a major faux pas. She'd get the same reaction if she thought it would be OK to show up at a tony Upper West Side cocktail party in sneakers.

Big Government : Conservative Judo: How to Fight the Smears and Take the Offensive

*Gives Kurt Schlichter another standing ovation for a brilliant article* This article needs to be emailed over and over again to every Republican's in-box, or enlarged poster-size and posted on their bulletin boards in their offices, because once is definitely not enough. The ones who are in the public eye especially need to be reminded of this every day, and they need to know that there are thousands of us behind them, supporting them and encouraging them to go on the offensive. I am continually frustrated with not only the presidential candidates, but with the rest of the GOP as well for their "let's not make waves" policies. Where are their staff members? If I were one, I'd be actively researching, plotting counterattacks they could use every day, and coaching them when and how to use them (a la "The King's Speech," if necessary).

Big Journalism : Explosive Email Shows Anti-Palin Author McGinniss, Random House Likely

That is exactly it -- get the meme out there. It doesn't matter if it's not true. That's the beauty of it in the first place to the Left. The idea is to have those untruths and innuendos spread far and wide among so many people for so long that it becomes part of the accepted narrative. But I have a feeling that eventually this tactic will backfire on them, if it's not starting to already. It's a short step -- why would I believe anything Joe McGinnis says or writes after this? I would also now look at his previous work with suspicion as well. And by extension, why would I believe any book that Random House chooses to publish is accurate and not slanted? They have just tainted themselves -- now I look at the entire publishing industry with a jaundiced eye as I already do with the MSM. These people have just made life more difficult for those authors and publishers who are honest, because now they have to prove that they *don't* have an agenda. And once again, the Left ruins yet another aspect of communication.

Every time I think the Left can't get any more idiotic, along comes a story like this one. Seriously, how can these people go through life hating everything about capitalism and America, day after day after day? I find it hard to imagine how much deep-seated hatred they must have for themselves that they turn outward to ruin and make miserable life for everyone else. The only result is that they will all be consumed by it. What a sad, pathetic waste of *human* capital it is.

Big Government : Gov. Rick Perry: Gun Control Means Using Both Hands

I agree with you, but not in this specific case. I have read and do applaud her efforts against international jihad, but quite honestly, I do not understand her position against Perry. The professor who wrote the materials for the Texas schools on Islam has produced a balanced viewpoint that is pro-Western. I do believe excerpts of his curriculum and abstracts (which seem to be where the misunderstandings are coming from) are available on David Stein's blog. I read these for myself and concluded that Ms. Geller has some sort of agenda going on against Rick Perry which is blinding her on this issue. Either that, or she's being played by Salon.com, who is the dishonest party in this whole thing, and that is unfortunate.

Remember: the Left is ABSOLUTELY COUNTING on people glancing at their insinuations and their sly manipulative articles and not doing any further digging as to whether what they are saying is true. You can probably take it as a given that nine times out of ten (or maybe ten times), they are lying. Anyone reading their tripe has to do it with a healthy dose of skepticism and suspicion and must, must, MUST do their own research so they can make up their own mind. If you read the article I posted from David Stein, you learn that a strategically placed question mark from Salon.com started the whole Rick Perry/Shariah law controversy, and when Stein called out the author on it, the author admitted *he didn't care that what he wrote was questionable [I'm paraphrasing], only that it would cause trouble.* You cannot trust ANYTHING these people on the Left write, so don't fall for it.

You might want to take a look at this: http://www.countercontempt.com/archives/2050, read it carefully and follow the links back to the earlier articles by David Stein. Also read http://peskytruth.wordpress.com/, which answers pretty thoroughly any questions anyone has about Rick Perry. I was concerned myself when I heard about the Shariah law issue, but I researched it and it led me to these sites. Both authors did a good job of debunking claims against Perry, which, if you stop to think about it, is more of the same from the Left to intentionally plant doubt and sow discord among Conservatives about supporting him. Rush is correct when he says that the Left will always tell you who they fear, and they do fear Rick Perry big time.

Big Government : White House Cover-up Makes Continuation of Fast and Furious Investigation Imperative

If there ever is a 21st Century Un-American Activities Committee formed, I maintain that it should be continued indefinitely into the future to act as a check on any politician who is tempted to stray into illegal territory, because I seriously doubt this will stop after the 2012 elections even when the Dems are swept from power. It will likely go back underground where it's been up until now. It obviously would need to do the job the press used to do, as most of the MSM are in bed with the Commie politicians anyway. Any good spies out there? Why couldn't a Tea Party-like consortium infiltrate government, academia and the MSM, just as the Commies have over the years and expose these criminals for all they are worth?

Big Government : Let Freedom Drink in Pennsylvania

Chalk up the failure of those wine kiosks as yet another example of extreme governmental incompetence. I looked at the unit that was installed in our local grocery store and immediately realized that it would be much less of a hassle to just go to the damn state store. This same grocery chain also chose our local store for a large cooler with a fairly decent selection of beer in it to be installed in the restaurant area of the store. But just because it's there doesn't make it any easier to buy -- you must ask the clerk to unlock the door to purchase, and you either have to drink it with the food you order or if you want to do a take-out, you have to pay for it at that particular register. There are huge warning stickers on the checkouts in the main part of the store that if you are buying beer TO PLEASE TAKE IT TO THE RESTAURANT REGISTER IMMEDIATELY. Oh, and for a 24/7 grocery store, you are still flat out of luck if you want to buy beer there past 9 p.m., as that is the only part of the store that is decidedly NOT 24/7.

Well, it's long past time for this, although as a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania, I'll believe it when I see it. I've seen this issue be introduced time and time again only to see it crash upon the shoals in the eleventh hour. It seems that the pro-privatization sentiment in Harrisburg is stronger than it's ever been with this legislature and governor, so it just might happen. But I'm not going to get too excited until Gov. Corbett announces that it is official and I can walk into any grocery store and buy a good bottle of wine without a multitude of taxes added into the price.
