Across the street we have a recycling plant and a port a potty company. The recycling plant used to run 18 hours a day and now they often let their employees leave by noon. Proof to me that people are buying less and have less packaging to throw out. I notice that even my own trash cans are only half full. A couple of years ago they were overflowing! The port a potty place used to have trucks loaded with 10-12 of the blue convenience stations coming and going all day long. Now they go out with only 2 or three just a couple of times a day. Both of these are low tech businesses but I believe that the low tech basic businesses are the true bellwether of any sign of recovery. Obama and his lot can't fool me.
