The FAA Follies : Hiatus

With all due respect to John Carr's position, I still think there is a need to highlight the FAA's tombstone mentality. Even if you cut back to one or two posts per week, the Failed Avaiation Admin is still broken. If you keep the spotlight on them, maybe the bastards that did NATCA wrong will be forced to move on. OK, that is a good dream, but at least they will know that they cannot get away with the mindset that has permantly ruined this agency. We need someone to keep exposing the corruption, and dislike for the workforce, until we are no longer at the bottom of the list of best agencies to work for. I do agree with John in that your marriage and your personal life are more important, but please, find some way to keep up the pressure on the FAA to do what is right. Otherwise, Gerry boy Lavey wins and you go home.

The FAA Follies : Backwards compatibility costs extra!

Hey thatsok, I am not sure where you got the idea that STARS was ontime and under budget, but it was not even close. What was supposed to be around $700 million and be in 170 ATCTs, ended up 2 years or more late, cost the taxpayers $7 billion and only went in 71 towers. This means that something still had / has to be done with the other 100 ATCT's that were originally due a STARS. Nothing the FAA touches will ever be on time and under budget even with both unions having a say so it's design. Nice pipe dream though. Here's a link you may want to check out. http://search.google.dot.gov/OIG/OIGSearchProcess...

The FAA Follies : Elections!

From over here in the PASS bargaining unit, I figured when you went back to the table to negotiate an agreement, that it would take you two contract cycles to get back everything you lost on Labor Day 2006. You got most of what you wanted this time and 2 1/2 years from now you will begin negotiating again. Just because they roke it off in you in one cycle doesn't mean you have to kiss and make up like nothing happened. Not rattifying it would allow management to say, "Look, we tried but they just don't want to work with us." I say never forget, but move forward and do things to ensure that this never, ever, happens again.

The FAA Follies : You Don't Deserve This

For all you Tech Ops folks out there, never forget what our AT brethren went through, and never forget that the FAA tried to do the same to us. This is the same management that contracted out 2500 Federal jobs to Cheney's puppet, and bitch slapped NATCA against the wall. Flakey the snake tried very hard to send us down the same river with no paddle. Fortunate for PASS, we saw the first two fornications and read that writing on the wall. Now maybe we will get something more along the lines we were asking for, a fair process.

If you have read the white paper that John Carr posted, Jane was the one who started it. Ask Flight Service how that sh*t worked out!

With all due respect, I have a beef with this statement: We have a three-person panel of arbitrators, one of whom was the best Administrator that the FAA’s ever had It should read one of whom was the best Administrator NATCA ever had. Her clueless self *ucked up the rest of the agency to make AT happy. Don't get me wrong, you guys got a helluva deal and I am happy for you. But it came at the expense of the rest of the unions. She was ignorant, had no clue what you or I do, and made bad policies worse. And don't forget that Geraldo Lavey put her up on the highest of pedistals when she stepped down. In Tech Ops, we hung that FAA Times in the stall in case we ran out of TP. You know if Geraldo likes her, she can't be good.
