"Liberal" or Modernist "Christians" are those who have lost their faith (origin is in German-school deism) but either think they are doing a service by destroying the faith of others, or are deeply confused and hold on to a vaguely theistic moralistic something that gives some meaning to their lives. Quite different from Christianity, which believes that the Bible is actually true.

So you say. But the census bureau had no record that you had actually done so, apparently. Are we to believe that THAT MANY were lost in the mail? I run into that claim a lot. I don't challenge it, sometimes it might even be true, but the rules are we have to enumerate, even if you claim 'it is in the mail'.

That fits with my experience where I work, too. I believe James O'Keefe, but I have trouble with some of the commentators' claims and generalizations.

I have seen none of these things. I have seen typical government stupidity (hyper accuracy in some ways and sloppiness in others) and bureaucratic thinking, I know illegals are enumerated, that the homeless potentially are enumerated more than once, if they are counted asleep in a park, and again at a soup kitchen, but none of the things you people are claiming. We all receive criminal background checks before we are hired, in addition to the usual testing. The Census has grown from counting legal voters for representation (that was foiled by the Slave States who wanted to count their slaves to add to the value of their own votes right when the Constitution was being argued out) to providing statistics for returning money to local area the fed never ought to have collected in the first place. But you don't fix this sort of thing by bad-mouthing your neighbors who need jobs and are actually willing to work! You do that by getting involved politically and changing congress over the long haul.

So why did the Department of Commerce have no record of you allegedly sending in your census form on time? Lack of evidence you having done so is what would have generated the computer report that your address still needed to be ennumerated.

Wrong. If you won't respond, we will be back. Those are the rules. If you want to cut waste, obey the law in the first place! I have seen no one sitting around doing nothing!!! Granted, I'm not on the coasts or in a big city.

Actually he is breaking the law. I don't know what will happen, but filling out the census is required by law, as is answering the census worker's questions that are on the actual form. Now, you can argue that the census isn't set up Constitutionally. But the only way you can change that is to vote November 2nd, and keep involved.

She had to keep visiting, she could not leave the form with you. You are required by law to respond to the census. I don't know what will happen to you. I hope it goes well for you. She shouldn't have suggested you lie, but she was correct that the information is how you see it in your eyes on 'race', 'hispanic' and so forth. The data will be kept secret even from other federal agencies for 72 years. That is federal law. Consider that most refusing are white conservatives. How do you think that will shift apportionment of representatives? It won't help. I wouldn't be surprised if California had at least a dozen more representatives and electoral votes than it should.

I'm working for the census and our training was the opposite. Any fraud is seen as extremely serious. We even have to return spare envelops and other random supplies. But then, this is the heartland, and it is a whole 'nother country. We are to write down any race given, even if it is 'martian' or 'Minbari'. And we will keep coming back because those are our orders. That is our job, to collect the data. Agreed the Constitution only authorizes a count, but I can -ask- for the rest. And you can refuse. And I'll put you down as a refusenik. And I'll be polite, and I am grateful for the politeness of the refuseniks I have run into. I don't know what will happen to you then. If you want to change the census you have to change congress and keep it changed so that the 2020 census will be more the way you want it. So please, commentors, don't smear census workers - we need the work. But do vote, please vote in November! James you do good work (keep it up!), but this result surprises me.

Breitbart.com : Fish are shrinking in response to global warming: study

Fish are going to respond to their local environment. The oceans haven't warmed beyond their normal historical fluctuations. The planet has been cooling these past ten years. In the normal osculations of summer and winter, of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation and so forth, do we see fish being smaller in warmer waters and larger in colder waters? This should be easily testable. So, why are the fish smaller? They 'know' what is in the news? Their immediate environment is unchanged. The global oceanic environment is within norms. I thought that AGW was supposed to be science, not superstition.
