Your comment about Walmart is essentially flawed; yes they buy large quantities--of drugs near expiration (similar to the great deals they offer in the Meat department) Why are their overheads larger than Medicare? That question is moot because Medicare cannot remain solvent for any length of time. Your point about the cost of this fight is well taken--it's just a crying shame it cost so much to kill a stupid plan. Your last question: come on already--a public option with a mask. The bottom line is Insurance companies affect the cost of health care, because they are managing the risk associated with healthcare.
