Where would one make a donation to Michelle and her daughters? If we all give a little, it would add up and hopefully make a difference.

Breitbart.tv : Obama Going Rogue On Student Loans

Easy-money is how the housing bubble was created by the gov't and the student loan bubble was created the same way. This is just another way of trying to re-inflate the bubble and/or keep it from popping.

Breitbart.tv : Obama Going Rogue On Student Loans

And... If the money is forgiven, who doesn't get paid back? From a comment on HotAir: "Do the banks eat it? Does the Fed print money to buy the loans? Does Congress appropriate money to pay off the notes? That money will be taken from the economy either in the form of taxation or inflation or absence of capital. Oh and with the promise of easier loans, expect the ethical institutions of higher learning to raise their tuitions accordingly." By increasing student loan debt, Obama will drive more and more debt-laden college grads into the government's arms when he announces more and more programs that "forgive" student loan debt in exchange for 10 years of gov't service. At 145% of private sector payscales, how in the world are indebted people going to resist that offer? They aren't. And once they are there, they will stay. How do private businesses compete with that offer? They can't.

Continued from above... That is exactly how the system will be gamed. (By the way, who is going to sit there and calculate how much discretionary income millions of people have each month in order to determine how much they should be paying for their student loans?!?) To add insult to injury... In her line of work, many people work on contract (1099/self-employed) and show very little income on their tax returns. Since she only has to pay 10% of her discretionary income, paying 10% of not-much is a great deal. Take that example of abuse and multiply it by a millions of people. We’ll have $2 trillion in government-guaranteed student loan debt in no time! What a deal for the (mostly liberal) universities and vote-buying politicians. Win/win indeed. Too bad these kids don’t understand that they will lose in the end when their country becomes Greece. So sad.

This is just more government welfare that invites abuse and fraud. True story. I struck up a conversation with a woman in an airport while waiting for our flight. The economy and the plight of recent college graduates came up. She openly (as in, without a hint of shame) detailed to me how her daughter plans to take advantage of Sugar-Daddy Obama’s generosity. Her daughter is majoring in some type of graphic design program at an expensive CA university and already has $56,000 in student loans. Realizing that the labor market is depressed, instead of graduating, she is doing what millions of others will decide to do when Obama dangles this carrot in front of them… she is staying in school as long as she can and living off more student loans. She has no incentive whatsoever to limit how much debt she racks-up, because she knows that she will not be held accountable to pay it back. Why stop at $56,000? $100,000! $150,000! $200,000! The sky’s the limit when you are spending free money!! Then, after 20 years of repaying not much if any of her student loans, her debt will be forgiven. How neat! Like free money or something!!

Breitbart.tv : St. Patrick's Day Special: Drunk With Debt

That $14 Trillion number has come down to around $12 Trillion, not because we paid the debt off, but because there have been $100's of billions in defaulted debt. Fun fact (not): We now owe more in student loan debt than we owe in credit card debt (BTW, easy-to-get student loans are THE reason that the cost of college keeps skyrocketing). "Victory has 1,000 fathers, but defeat is an orphan", as they say. Before we point our collective fingers at the over-spenders in DC, we need to realize that our debt problem goes way, way beyond our irresponsible government. We have the government we deserve. If the Fed/Gov't is like a drug-dealer that keeps supplying the drugs (debt), we the people are the addicts that keep lining up to buy it. (to paraphrase Peter Schiff) As a nation, we have to face this crisis.

Read it and you will never again waste another hard-earned dime on outrageously over-priced higher education.

Breitbart.tv : President Barack Obama's Endgame: A Look At The National Debt

We increased U.S. residential mortgage debt from $5.1 trillion to $11 trillion in 8 short yrs from 2000 – 2008. Again, we increased our national residential mortgage debt BY 6 trillion dollars during that time. It took us generations to get to 5.1 trillion, but only 8 yrs to more than double that number to 11 trillion! How much did we overspend? 2 trillion? 3 trillion? More? People do not seem to grasp the enormity of the issue. Prime loans (which did not remotely fit the true definition of a prime loan), Alt-A loans, Subprime loans… doesn’t matter. ANY loan done during that time frame was a bad loan because the value of the underlying asset was distorted/inflated. Millions of the jobs that were created during that time were temporary, because they existed only as long as the bubble existed. That bubble has burst. It’s a long way down back to earth. The pain must come. Jobs (non-government, export-creating jobs) are the only pain reliever!! The anti-business attitude in Washington has got to stop. Jobs are the only thing that can save us, if anything can.

Just a distraction to a much bigger scam that is going on... a $10 TRILLION carbon credit heist called Cap and Trade... no wait, now it's called the American Power Act. Issa (R-CA) sent a letter to David Kappos, the Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as Michael Williams, President and CEO of Fannie Mae, seeking information concerning a patent issued to Fannie Mae regarding a residential Cap and Trade system. “I have serious questions about why Fannie Mae, back in 2005, was working on a Cap and Trade scheme,” said Rep. Chaffetz. “Why would they be spending their resources on something that is well outside of the scope of Fannie Mae’s charter?
