Sadly, all the patriotism and conservatism seems to be emanating from the South (and Alaska), whose songs, and political arguments (although correct) are inarticulate and lack sophistication. I want patriotism bouncing off the walls in America, I want new songs, and new conservative political leaders, but I would much prefer to hear Kate Smith sing “God Bless America,” and another William F. Buckley, Jr as the face of modern conservatism, and certainly not Lee Greenwood and Sarah Palin. This country needs to become more urbane, and Lee Greenwood and his unsophisticated song about this great nation is the exact opposite of that.
