What's great about North Liberty? I could go with the obvious, i.e. the fact you don't live here, but I shant...It is a great place to live as far as I am concerned, and the proximity to Iowa City and all that it has to offer, not to mention Coralville Lake, the Amanas, Cedar Rapids (in spite of the negatives in CR, there are still a lot of good things to do there) low crime rates and good schools add to that.

I would say you are being generous with 10 seconds...I was a bouncer back in the 80's and many a drunk went down that way. You don't have to be 6'+ and 250 pounds to administer one either. It's a bad ending to a bad situation that the deceased brought on himself.

Interesting debate, most of which has nothing to do with the Lutheran Church changing it's stand on gays in the clergy. If you disagree, don't go there. Now, wasn't that easy. As for me, I don't believe that one's sexual preference makes you better (or worse) than the next preacher/pastor/priest/rabbi..etc. etc. etc. Hatred of anyone seems to fly in the face of the basic message of Christianity, just an observation....

Coach Farley is right...they should have won that game. They beat Iowa everywhere but on the scoreboard in the end. He is a great coach both on and off the field.

Last time I checked...the majority of funds to build our schools come from the government in one form or another and those of us of European heritage used to require all students who attended out schools be of 100% European heritage too boot. America is filled with private schools with enrollement requirements of every imaginable sort to maintain a certain focus on the composition of the classrooms, whether it be academic, religious, ethnic, military or economical variables. Congratulations to the Meskwaki for spending casino money on education and for recognizing that it is far more important to the people than said casino.

I don't see why packer fans have any right to be upset at all. Their organization decided to move on without Favre. Favre found a new job. As for the waffling...I can't imagine what it would be like to be in his shoes, so I won't condemn him for struggling with the decision.

The question was posed, "Does God Care?"...At the risk of being what some might consider "irreverant", I don't think I would want to serve a God that didn't enjoy the obvious display of happiness that I observed in that video. Marriage isn't designed to call attention to God, it's to show the world the committment that exists in their hearts. An outward display of an inward conviction and covenant between two people. My wedding was for the benefit of my friends and family. If God truly looks on the heart, then he already knew the depths of my love and committment. I will never cease to be amazed at how many are so quick to pass judgement on the actions of others when it comes to the religious community. This was their way of celebrating, and obviously the presiding cleric had no issues with it, nor did their friends and families that you can see from the video. At that point, it becomes no ones concern but their own, you tube video or no you tube video.

How on earth do you make the jump from alleged sexual harrassment to human trafficking world wide? Doesn't it say in your bible (Colossians 3:18) something about women being subject (or submissive, depending on which one of more than 20 interpretations you are referring to...) not to mention Ephesians 5:22, or Corinthians 14:34 "The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says." Your quotes are typical of those that seek to extract what they want from the bible, rather than what is written there. You can take anything out of context and twist it to your own advantage. You can try and deflect others with unrelated passages, but the fact remains that the early leaders of the christian church were exquisitely chauvinistic in their treatment of women, who were not even allowed to speak in church...
