The kids can read/speak English (they're in our K-12 schools and would have to earn high school diplomas)....it's the parents that more likely are less able to.

If this is the student poplulation that's growing in Iowa, they'll need to be an active part of our future workforce. Better they get an solid education, or at least have that opportunity, rather than stay undeducated and in poverty as a drain on our social welfare system. If these kids were born in the US, they are US citizens...at least that's how the Constitution works now. The ad seems to be directed at some of the parents who may not be the best at English. And I can't envision what "ProudOfCR" means by "the motive is money"....these kids are more likely in low income families and will probably find financial aid to help pay for school. It's great to see our public universities stepping up to encourage more education for all our kids.

That may have been true 20+ years ago but hasn't been the case for many years. If you have facts to the contrary, you should post them.

Sounds like you have a personal issue with CR school bus drivers, "firstfleeter". If you base all your decisions on the "scandals" KGAN reports, we can all expect the world to likely end tomorrow.

GazetteOnline.com : Cutting block classes is a loss for students

These students still get to take the same AP classes, no different than at Wash or Kennedy or Xavier; they all seem to get into top colleges just fine. Change is tough for kids to understand sometimes.
